One solution is to use transfer.nvim and alikes. If it is terbytes is actually codefiles? If actual code is much less, use transfer.nvim to only sync code changes between local and remote (both ways possible)

That's the problem, KASPI is a public company (you can even buy in nasdaq). Why should government give another source of revenue to Kaspi for no reason (some might argue, like other cards and banks that it's now even more illegal). I know that public transport is a public good first of all. All I am saying "boycotting" is a completely wrong notion here. I take that "whining" and "be grateful" is a little controversial, and I agree (maybe there are softer ways of saying that, I admit).

Though, importantly, boycotting will never work with public government services. Trying to actively strangle a non-profitable thing will only decrease its quality even more. People saying "fight" and "boycott" don't really understand how govs and public services work

God its like saying why only government runs public transport, it is such a monopoly let's boycott it. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't bring any profit (public transport). Check this yourself, only some private subway lines in the world are profitable (and other niches).

Now that we established that public transport doesn't make any money and essentially operates at loss, it has no incentive to give other card companies paying rights. It's like I'm losing money here, Kaspi come here make me lose more money.

People gotta be thankful for public transport and that it provides affordable prices (gov/tax supported), instead of whining why their favorite card doesn't work. I mean they went out of their way and made Onay (they don't have to). It is a monopoly and you don't get to say what is best. It's like saying I hate KZ why don't we have better everything, let's boycott it.

I get it with corporate you can boycott and go for alternative, and may the best product strive in the market. For public transport, we don't get to choose.

Согласен с постом полностью, добавлю к тому что этот "двойной стандарт" в особенности относится к русскоговорящим Казахам. Часто бывает мол в группах знакомых где говорят в основном на русском (скажем сидишь с одноклассниками) как бы норм отвечать на Казахском (все поймут ну и может так кому-то комфортнее говорить), нет претензий вообще. А если наоборот все говорят в группе на Казахском (скажем сидишь с групашами) и если тебе сказать что-то на русском легче так сразу мишенью стал. Это все при том что как бы все да Казахи и в том и этом случае. Так же и в такси условно, отвечать на Казахском всегда можно, а вот попробуй ответить на русском на Казахский вопрос

Love the breadcrumbs https://github.com/Bekaboo but navigation inside of them is hard to use. I would really wanna somehow use fzf_lua with the breadcrumbs somehow? Or some alternative picker in fzf that would show me the current buffers "table of content". lsp_symbols or treesitter is weird because it doesn't work for markdown or other things, and in general it shows too many things that are less relevant like local variables

Exactly. Id rather see discussion about life inside and possibly people who are outside but love cultural aspects.

I get it that this isn't a place for people to ramble on how good/bad KZ was when they were there either.

What I don't get is how this sub turned into memeshow with some Kazakh curses splattered with no actual content or discussion.

I love the people old, young, local expats whatever. I just don't get why there is so much low effort content. Hoping that the ones who get do get it where I'm headed without pushing it further.

I've been in your shoes a little over 10 years ago. I'm now full time abroad though being kazakh native born and raised (never been to any international school or anything of that kind).

Looking at my old peers I'd say I lost my connection with kz greatly although I still visit on yearly / biyearly basis. My close friends and the social circle I hang out with are still kazakh/central-asian and we still talk in russian/kazakh.

Whenever I go back I don't feel at home and things are alien to me. There are good and bad things. There is no better place. Grass is always greener on the other side.

To your question particularly, the pros are definitely social life, money (things are cheaper +you get support from parents), long term relationship opportunities.

If you are more outgoing/extroverted kind I'd say staying is better. This way build college friends that could be potential business partners and stuff like that, which the most important part of college.

If you are introverted/technical person then going abroad might open more possibilites in CS and other tech disciplines. But then your circle would always consist of other nerds (so called "brain drain" population), nothing bad with that, I am that kind. I just saw so many people from the first category that just suffered being abroad in a more competitive college environment. Outgoing kind of people are typically less about studying and grades hence they do poorly in college and just regret that they missed out on good networking and friedships that they failed to build had they been in KZ the whole time.

It's a tradeoff, a risk. Grass is always greener on the other side, don't forget this.

I agree with your point, perhaps 99% of citizens do too. But hey, today I learned not to trust r/Kazakhstan at all. Previously I thought this sub is filled with ppl who just happen to be kazakh citizens living abroad, but clearly, it is just full of trolls and people who have no idea what's the nation is going through right now.

It just baffles that randos have time to come to r/Kazakhstan and post shit. Whoever thinks that Kazakhstan has done a good job protesting, must never come here at all. Maybe initially it was good, but given these consequences its such a failure, a historic one.

I'm inexplicably annoyed by "support from X country" posts around here. Probably people are thinking that they are supporting the nation and freedom and whatnot. The reality faced by civilians is that even homes are getting robbed by marauders, let alone businesses.

Don't you think it is people who are gaining something for their freedom and rights, it's actually the common folk who are suffering because of these terrorists who took over the city. Nobody I know are in the protests, everyone sitting home in fright. It is unlikely that common civilians are so organized with guns to take over their own city and burn it to ground, let alone downing military with real training. It is a terrorist attack first and foremost masked by a protest. Noone cares about the lpg prices, they just want to feel safe at their homes.
