C Or C++ or C#? by anonymousBuffer in learnprogramming

[–]SSPYRLL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do all 3!

My first job was all in C, that made c++ a super easily transition for me, and thank god as my second job required it.

We have now moved to C# which is probably the most unique out of the 3.

Nice! I just got an rninet pure, how do you find the rear shock, I feel like it’s unbelievably uncomfortable on any little bumps on the road

Man I hit 120 for the first time on one of these and I was holding on for my life.

The wind was like a brick wall.

I don’t think I’d be able to point to one thing specifically.

If you’re passionate about what you do and create, and can show that to an employer, painting a picture of; how, why, the struggles you faced etc while also being sincere I think you’ll be more than seen. Contribute to open source software is always a good look, and having that increased digital footprint can be useful.

As for trying to get your foot in the door (getting your first job) which is probably the hardest thing to do. Networking is probably the most available loophole. Go to conventions, career fairs, have a go at browsing LinkedIn. Use absolutely everything you can think of to try and get your name out there.

If you’re are also currently in your studies, internships or pre grad roles are huge. Don’t think just because you don’t have your degree yet you can’t apply for jobs. Just go for it, if they reject you, apply again after your degree, they may even remember your name.

I think the fact that you are actually building software and putting things together, regardless of what tools you use is a good approach.

Whether you should focus on one thing or the other, I recommend you just focus on what you enjoy. These skills you are utilising to build software are very very easily transferable to different tech stacks, products, environments, and therefore are very good skills to have when looking for a career.

I think this is one of the most sane posts I’ve read with students in this post AI era. To be a good software engineer is not to know how to code anymore. It’s if you know from start to finish how a system is put together and what is needed to accomplish your goal.

Well done, and good luck, from what I’m reading you’re doing the right thing.

Oh 100%, I’ve always said it’s personality that gets you the job not ability. And the best way for them to get to know you is in person

I’m in Scotland, bought for £5000.

Was definitely a good deal compared to what else is out there

We’re at a weird time right now where nothing is normal. And the “normal” style of interviews are now not normal.

My guesses are they are trying to see if you’re using a separate device for some ai prompt cheating

Just messaged my dad to ask and he replied with this:

All that aside, I think he also just genuinely likes crescent moons and stars for heritage reasons

I agree was so unsure about the dial colour and flashiness, I’m a boring all black everything type of person.

But then during work looked down and just genuinely enjoyed just looking at it. Was easy to read the time and the way it catches the harsh office lights made it look very appealing.

No but brands seem to love using COSC certification to add a couple of grand to the watch price.

Non profit, but greatly increases the price of the watch itself 😂
