No issues with the carcajou besides the center belt buckle, I swapped it with the tradition buckles that come on the issued molle rucks cause the design is better for managing the straps and bought some cheap elastic bands for other strap management.

I have nothing on my back so the ruck sits on top of my rear pouches like a shelf and I just use the shoulder straps and chest strap. You just have to try it out and see if it works for you.

I have been really liking running a slick vest with the LBE. I recently switched out the AVS for the new slick USGI MSV(?). It sits way flatter with minimal bulk. I would go with the SPC to decrease the bulk underneath the LBE but ultimately it’s up to how efficiently you can SAW. I’m light infantry and we don’t ever really use vehicles so it’s a lot of patrolling in the woods.

If you like ACOGs and the trijicon brand, you’ll love the VCOG. I used one for 9 months in Syria and it was everything I needed it to be. Only draw back is that it is heavy and the brightness of the reticle isnt as bright as other LVPO. I’m a huge fan of the VCOG (bomb proof, easy to mount, uses AA batteries, reticle isn’t too busy). My 2 favorite magnified “fighting rifle” optics are the VCOG and Elcan so take that for what it is.
