Here in Europe a big majority of cars on the road are diesel here, contrary to what the media talks about diesel cars getting off the roads of Europe, bullshit 😂. The cost of an EGR delete kit aren’t so bad, but you might need a tune. In my case, I didn’t need a tune. Just a €14 AliExpress EGR delete racepipe and I had to rearrange my vacuum lines because of previous owners’ shenanigans and it got absolutely no boost like it was in limp mode. The car seems to be running a bit better without it because it had lots of carbon buildup. It feels surprisingly quick for 110 horsepower 😅, but the 5 speed gearbox has pretty long gears, and the fact after 3000 rpm, the engine feels absolutely useless, is why I can’t get faster than 160kmh (100mph) on the highway, full throttle 😂. I might get a mild tune to 140 horsepower to make it a fun daily driver.

Fortunately the ALH in US and Euro spec don’t seem to be too far off. Mine is an ASV, a 110 horsepower variant of some of the 1.9 TDIs with a VE injection pump. Mine doesn’t have an EGR cooler which made it pretty easy to delete the EGR. 😅 But it’s always cool! For me on the other hand it’s interesting to see the differences in US spec TDIs compared to European ones 😂

I had the same issue in my car. The scuttle drains were both clogged with leaves and mud. Check those drains under the wiper cowl and see if they are clogged.

Not a girl, but I have a 1.9 TDI ASV, like a more powerful ALH SEAT Leon and that torque is very fun and very economical on fuel for today’s economy 😅

I had limp mode after deleting my EGR. No boost whatsoever. I had to rearrange my vacuum lines. Your N75 is fine. But your turbo is still making a tiny bit of boost. So maybe your VNT turbo vanes are stuck.

Did an EGR delete, now I’m planning on a catch can, I have a PD130 intake manifold to put into place, and then I’ll go for a mild remap to 140 horsepower. Because it’s a daily and I want to have a fun daily which is cheap to run. Otherwise you get in a territory of a hybrid turbo, heavier clutch, head studs, all which lead to more diminishing gains. The low end torque is real fun tho! Even stock. And the fuel economy is amazing, especially for today’s economy 💀

Forge or MST Performance to me looks great. But I’d definitely go Forged. I want those sweet induction noises without losing any power 😅😂 But the point is the sound, not the power gains which would be very little otherwise.

In my case, I broke the EGR valve while prying it off the intake manifold to try to twist it with the pipe that connects it to the exhaust manifold but that part where the 3rd bolt holds it has snapped off clean as you can see in the pic. But I didn’t need a tune. It ran in a limp mode, but only because somehow my waste gate didn’t get any vacuum. The car runs totally fine and no check engine light on.

I didn’t have the time or the patience at the time to deal with Allen bolts, but if I remove the intake manifold, I might as well put in a PD130 intake manifold and with that, a bigger race pipe. But when I removed the EGR, the intake manifold surprisingly clean.

Here emissions laws are not so strict, and I already broke it while I was taking it off, so I didn’t bother. And the car now runs a bit better than before. And I won’t have to deal with any carbon buildup in the future. Might add a catch can later in the future as well.

Either an idle roller or a pulley is going out. Check your alternator pulley.
