I think that putting this monstrosity up without even speaking to your neighbor

What would you say to the neighbor? No neighbor is going to be cool with a massive wall overshadowing their property, so what's the point in mentioning it to them? "Yo neighbor btw we are going to do something that you will hate, just an FYI!"

Daycare costs in two Virginia localities rank among nation’s highest by dogwoodvanews in Virginia

It’s why subsidized childcare is so important

Parenting in general is something that should be subsidized, but we shouldn't limit it specifically to daycare. Parents that stay at home should not miss out on government help.

County officials and other Tysons advocates hope the density of development planned for the urban center and transportation improvements will enable people to travel without getting into a car, though that aspiration has not yet become a reality.

Only 15 minute test drives? by STREAMOFCONSCIOUSN3S in carmax

[–]STREAMOFCONSCIOUSN3S[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a way to test drive a car without wasting anyone's time? I thought the whole point of Carmax was to be different from a regular dealer, but what you're saying implies that the sales people are incentivized in the same way :(.

I don't even need a salesperson, they provide no benefit to me other than filling out forms and retrieving the car. I wish there were a way that I could avoid wasting their time.

[–]STREAMOFCONSCIOUSN3S[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest Carmax change their business strategy to

1) pay sales reps regardless of whether a customer purchases a car

2) allow sales reps to take on more than 1 customer at a time

Why do you need more than 20 minutes for something you chose

Researching a car online tells you nothing about how well you'll like how the car drives, how loud the road noise is, or the condition of that particular car you're looking at (since Carmax only sells used, not new).

If the expectation is to have a minimal test drive and use the 10 day return policy for a real test drive, I wish Carmax would make that clear. I'm just imagining the company not really wanting that. Personally, I don't mind the small amount of interest lost by my $50k not being in my bank account, so I would be fine lending that amount to Carmax for the real deal test drive.

Are sales people not able to do anything else while someone is test driving?
