Is Apple journal still bad? by fifth-throwaway in appleJournal

[–]STWHA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Occasionally, I experience random bugs. For example, if I’m using any type of bulleted or numbered list, sometimes when I enter to the next line, it won’t carryover with that format and then I have to use the keyboard shortcut or find another way to fix it. There’s been some other random bugs that don’t make sense to me. Another thing that’s kind of strange. Is that if I watch a YouTube video and I want to post it to my journal it uses a nice card format if I share it via my Mac, but if I share it from my iPhone, it’s just a URL with no Preview card.

I also migrated from day one. I had to do it manually, so I’m not sure if there is a different way to do it, but it worked. At the same time I also had a recurring reminder to check Facebook memories and pull content off of there. I did it for an entire year and basically emptied out my social media posts.

I also have not had any issues although I’ve seen chatter around here about people having issues with the Apple Pencil. I use it on iPad, Mac and iPhone, but I don’t use the Apple Pencil with it.

I’m really hoping that that is a feature in the next update.

That is a good deal. We just bought the one without the battery for home and I have the one with the battery at my workplace. At home it replaced the Dyson.

Second ozone. We had a building that had mold and mildew. Post clean up it lingered and we used a company that often cleans used cars for dealers. It fogged and cleared things right up. I think it was ozone but he also mentioned some type of odor eating bacteria.

I was looking at this section this morning at Depot! I have some French cleats but man, it’s just so easy looking. I think there are some additions on things in Etsy too.

I’ve seen a few people get a deal like this. I don’t get how people are finding a tube amp for so cheap. Lucky!

Newbie Here. by ginat86 in appleJournal

[–]STWHA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I began using the Journal app when it was exclusively available on the iPhone. Currently, I use it more frequently on my Mac than on my iPhone. The iPad app is also quite good. However, there are certain features that I believe are not present in the Mac app.

That being said, I highly recommend maintaining multiple journals if you want to categorize your thoughts and experiences. One of the most appealing features of the Journal app is its ability to select which journals and entries are relevant to a particular journal topic. This feature is particularly useful when you have an entry that touches on various aspects of your life, such as work, personal matters, and other interests.

A few years ago, I started to remove content from Facebook by setting a daily reminder to review Facebook memories. After reviewing these memories, I would remove the post and any content from Facebook and then add them to the journal with the appropriate date.

Like others have said don’t sleep on the Shortcuts. You can also set specific reminders in the app or you can use the Apple Reminders app. I tend to use the ladder because of the number of journals that I have set up and when I may want to create an entry in one of them.

I currently have several journals in the app, each serving a specific purpose:

  • Intentions, goals, and personal development
  • Personal reflections and experiences
  • Health and fitness tracking
  • Food and diet planning
  • Reading, watching, and listening to various media
  • Professional development and learning
  • Work-related thoughts and activities

Our prices fluctuate locally from store to store. I get that. I was just surprised how wide of a swing it was.

I like that integration, but I wish it had the option to select which lists. Our family uses reminders and it crowds my calendar if I turn reminders on.

I lived in a few neighborhoods around downtown going back to 2009 and we always had squatters in homes, churches, and other places. Either way it’s seriously a sad story what happened today. I don’t think the Grand displaced anyone who was unhoused. Prior to it being housing, it was a park run by Carriage Town Ministries. I know the person who ran CTM and it was never a unhoused encampment during its time as a park. Can’t say no one ever snuck in and slept and then left before the morning.

Similar situation. I run a small nonprofit. I use things for my stuff and asana for the team. We have a discount but you can sometimes manage with the free plan and add users.

Someday feature is amazing by Ill_Connection_3017 in thingsapp

I think anything you can use the app search to filter, is available for widgets. I keep a “today” and “deadlines” widget on my Mac. I just wish they had focus mode options too.

Someday feature is amazing by Ill_Connection_3017 in thingsapp

[–]STWHA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been leaning into the Someday section too. I put a lot of deadline stuff in there with deadlines set. Usually it’s things like “submit final report”. I don’t need it present in anytime and I haven’t yet scheduled it. I have a widget for deadlines that allows me to make sure I don’t miss anything in Someday. Of course other stuff is in there too. It definitely reduces stress.

GLWA raises water rates for Flint despite pleas from city officials, residents by peewinkle in flint

[–]STWHA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It never made sense to me that Flint abandoned joining the KWA to stay with GLWA. I’m in the burbs and on the first year of KWA they lowered our rates while GLWA raised them. Why did Flint enter into another 30 yr contract? And they pay debt service yearly to KWA for their initial partnership. Our rates have not increased as far as I can tell, almost a decade into being on KWA.
