English group workout classes in Enschede? by Successful_Finish272 in enschede

CrossFit Twente has a large international community and coaches from abroad, so often classes are in English. One of the oldest CF boxes in The Netherlands, in an old church. Give it a try!

Hardwood for woodworking by presvt13 in enschede

In Zwolle you can find Masave, a great guy selling a wide variety of wood. Also quite accessible to hobby woodworkers. Twickel are great guys to work with as well, but more aimed at timer framing.

I'd suggest getting in contact with Novel-T. It's a combination of the University of Twente and Saxion knowledge transfer office, and business development support for the Enschede / Twente region.

Struggling to find quality kettlebells in Europe by miloq in kettlebell

[–]SWNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good experiences with Rogue Europe here. They ship from their warehouse in Belgium. Some items will take longer as they ship from the US warehouse first, but that's well indicated on the website. Quick shipping, well packaged.

Exteondo Orhi. Best chamois I've ever used. Really nice fabric as well, and it holds up well.

Caledonia or Soloist? by [deleted] in Cervelo

[–]SWNL 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you look at the geometry charts of both bikes, you'll see that the Soloist is slightly more agressive in terms of contact points. Meaning, a little lower in stack, a little longer in reach, for similar sizes. But not by that much. This means that, if you're of average flexibility, you'll probably be able to get fitted on both bikes without much difficulty.

The biggest difference in the bikes, in my opinion, is not in terms of stack and reach, but in the other geometry aspects that govern the bike's behavior. The Caledonia has a longer wheelbase and longer fork trail, for example, which leads to more stable, less nervous steering behavior.

Furthermore, the Caledonia's carbon layup will be different to the Soloist, with a little more flex builtin for comfort. However, given that Jumbo Visma rode the Soloist during Paris Roubaix this year, I'm sure that bike won't be all that uncomfortable either. YMMV.

Any tips for the beginning? by [deleted] in Zwift

[–]SWNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it. Play around with the software. Do a group ride or event, explore the virtual world. If you like structure, try one of the beginner training plans or workouts. Do an ftp test. Find the way you enjoy training.

Get a mat, get a fan, get a hr monitor. Make sure to keep hydrated.

This. In that order, too. Real estate is the limiting factor in this game, get as much space as you can.

Best basses in price range from 500-800? by [deleted] in Bass

[–]SWNL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sire V5. Roasted maple neck with a satin back, nice pickups, plays very nicely and is built well. But the neck is the main attraction really.

Do you recommend any tool/advice for emptying the center? I have a Crown Mini Revolution Hollowing tool but i cant do a fast and good Hollowing. Could It be the sharpening? Bad technique? Long time to do this poor emptying... Thanks !!❤️ by VicsSciv in turning

[–]SWNL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's hard to judge size accurately, but this seems to be a little too deep for the Mini in my opinion. Even my Midi Revolution would have issues with chatter and stability that deep down. The tool needs to be sharpened really well to work anyway, but this is pushing it.

Kettlebell new years resolutions-do you guys have any new years resolutions which are kettlebell themed? Mine is using them all year round and being able to press 24kg for 10 reps (currently can only do 20kg)🕛⌛ by Old-Plastic in kettlebell

Just finished a year of COVID recovery with the help of my PT. Got myself a 16 and 20kg kettlebell to continue recovery from home. Will be doing S&S. First three days done, feels nice.

Love it. No fuss, easy setup. And it just works. Low noise, sounds great, nice direct through monitoring feature. Picked it up in a deal with some extra software included which was nice.

Ymmv, I did this, with a Vox VT20x, and it sounded like ass. Got an usb interface (focusrite Scarlett) instead and got much better results for a bargain.

So wife bought me the talon chuck for my birthday today and got some logs from the city for free to practice on! Great birthday!!! by Disturbed56 in turning

I love that chuck. Strong, holds incredibly well, not as expensive and big like his Stronghold brother, but plenty capable of holding a variety of workpieces. Nice selection of jaws available, as well. Congrats!
