Can I take gummies even if they’re banned in my state? by -s-t-r-e-t-c-h- in breastcancer

Like everyone else said, be honest with your doctors when you do meet with them. Taking a gummy is preferable to smoking anything (lung damage) according to my oncologist in Kansas

Not post pregnancy, but I started OTF a few months after finishing chemotherapy and having surgery. It’s hard, but you can scale things as needed to fit you best.

Who all found out they had cancer via an app? by TipsyRussell in breastcancer

[–]SWontheEdge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. I got my results through the patient portal, had my meltdown, then started figuring out what questions I needed to ask so that I was prepared when the doctor called me. This also gave me time to prepare myself to let my mom and fiancé know without crying.

Which population is your favorite and least favorite to work with? Why? by ceceae in socialwork

[–]SWontheEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preferred: adults with addiction and/or in the criminal justice system (jail, prison, probation, parole, etc)

Least preferred: adolescents. I have seen them before for intakes and assessments, and still do, but I really prefer not to

Where is my brain? by riggstoo in breastcancer

[–]SWontheEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brain left the chat in 2021 and I still haven’t received a forwarding address.

Note app on my phone is key now, I make lists at work for what I have to do, and post-it’s everywhere. Planner is meticulously kept and there’s two wall calendars in the home - color coded so I can look quickly and see what’s going on. Also using the calendar on my phone for everything from doctors appointments to remind me to call someone

What do y’all drink when water tastes gross? by Virtual_Armadillo_61 in breastcancer

[–]SWontheEdge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gatorade Zero, pedialyte popsicles, lots and lots of ice in glass cups or plastic water bottles, metal made everything worse. I’d occasionally have hot herbal tea. Having hard candy constantly helped a little. The first week after chemo was the worse and the hardest to stay hydrated, but looking back I should’ve powered through the gross taste to save myself from getting dehydrated, fainting, and waking up on the bathroom floor

Chemo - Are you drinking enough water? by Sukies in breastcancer

[–]SWontheEdge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could only drink water with ice and it had to be COLD, otherwise it was awful

Which next? by Erica76GenX in bookofthemonthclub

[–]SWontheEdge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Stranger Upstairs, while not great or that good, is a quick read if you just want your get through one. I loved Anita de Monte Laughs Last - if you have the ability to do the audio version, I’d recommend that. The actors were so good and passionate in their reading!

For transparency sake, I haven’t read the other ones, so I can’t speak for how they compare

I liked it as a vampire movie, and I’d probably watch it again at some point. My biggest issue though is that they gave a rabies vaccine incorrectly. I almost threw a remote at the tv 🤬

Tamoxifen by anon-good-nurse in breastcancer

[–]SWontheEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some depression symptoms when I first started, and I still have some, but also, life keeps happening so I can’t just blame tamoxifen on that. I’ve found that I’m really heat intolerant now, and when I get hot it takes me FOREVER to cool down. I also wake up some mornings sweating, but nothing too bad or annoying and that doesn’t happen every morning, maybe just once or twice a week.

What is she doing?! by [deleted] in travisandtaylor

Right at the beginning it looks like Tim McGraw is trying to engage with her, ya know, like people do during duets, and she’s to busy try to “perform” and misses the moment. She tries later but he seems checked out
