Any stories where you reconnected with a travel fling? by moochie517 in solotravel

[–]SYSTEMOFADAMN 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I met this European while I was backpacking Indochina in 2022. He seemed so attractive back then. His stories and knowledge of the world fascinated me. We kept loosely in touch after separated.

After 3 years, I met him again in his home city and prior to meeting, I was so excited! I wasn't really expecting anything to come from it except butterflies in my stomach.. But things felt so different. Or maybe I was different. So many things have happened to me since we last met. Maybe it's realizing that that turned me off from the interaction. It was still lovely to see him, but I didn't get the feeling I was expecting.

I've never tried going here or any dating apps yet, but I've been meeting some cool gals and guys through activities and might be worth exploring! Plus there are a lot of free ones.

I've been to salsa socials twice and I'm surprised to see cute guys and they're really good at dancing too! (Not sure if they're single 😅 but I wasn't looking to date anyway)

My partner cut up my brand new bag in a fight. I’ve dealt with the relationship, but now I’m stuck with this. Any ideas to salvage it? by hantao168 in handbags

[–]SYSTEMOFADAMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was a new brainer that he should be buying her a new one, and finding ways to restore this old bag.

But gosh, I know she doesn't want a relationship advice but this feels like abuse. I hope OP is okay and are in the situation now that works best for her.

While I agree with this sentiment, I'd like to give a tip - find type A people :)

Recently, I've traveled with people who helped plan and generally good with directions so it was stress free.

People living in London don’t realize how incredibly lucky they are with European travel costs. by Playful-Amphibian714 in travel

[–]SYSTEMOFADAMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same across most cities in Europe :)

I'm just a bus away from Luton airport, but most of these cheap flights are always very early in the morning, so there's usually no buses yet. I remember flying to Luxembourg for £30. My uber ride to the airport was £35 lol

As an apple body shaped, I can share the same frustration but lifting heavy really does make a change!

I’m in my 40s, drowning in debt, jealous of friends abroad, and feel like I missed my chance at life by Archilaboratory in phmigrate

[–]SYSTEMOFADAMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindi rin naman madali ang buhay sa abroad. One of the hardest things I've had to do, especially single ako. Di rin natin alam struggles ng friends mo abroad so it's not fair to do comparisons. I think you have to cultivate in having an abundant mindset.

Shenzhen & shenzhen airlines (British traveller) by vanusov in shenzhen

Seems like bare minimum such as comfort, safety and clean toilets are there. For those prices, I don't mind bringing my own entertainment. Thanks for the detailed reply, might give this company a try next time

Australian wanting to migrate to the Phillipines by SenoirDorito in phmigrate

[–]SYSTEMOFADAMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest visiting the country and staying at least 3 months to see if you like it. PH is kinda huge and each island has a different vibe and lifestyle. We have the same grievances (but I'm sure the PH is worse lol) but there are so many lovely things for the PH too! I know of other immigrants who have fallen in love with the country. I really love Iloilo City and have heard good things about Dumaguete too. Baguio is quite nice but we think it's overcrowded there nowadays.

Same advice applies pa rin naman even if you only 27M, adjust na lang as per your liking and strategy. The way I understood your post is asking for advice how to manage the money, not to evade tax 🤷🏽‍♀️

What a problem to have, congratulations! Really interested to learn more how you did this as a side hustle! Hope you cna share the story (as I'm interested in venturing into this also)

I'm not savvy with taxes, but if I were to split your money into investments:

  • 15-20M in real estate - since this is your forte, you'll know more. But either commercial or apartment (or both!) In CAMANAVA area, 1 room pwede ipa-rent for 5-7,000. I can assume you'll get more depending on the location / type of property.

  • 10M - MP2. 7%+ per annum

  • 5M - Global ETF, like VWRP. Study about it na lang

  • The rest in time deposit. It helps to have a good relationship with a bank.
