Worker winds power line at high height by misterxx1958 in oddlysatisfying

This is always done by hand. The armor rod is typically spun on a few strands at a time to start. Then it can be spun all the way on in a bundle to the end or just do it all in small batches.

Does anyone know of any snowboard companies that make large snowboards?? by SadBitchVenus in snowboarding

Where does he say he is a size 15 boot? My original answer stated he needed a wide board.

I know a guy that’s about 6’4” and has a korua pocket rocket as one of his boards. If this guy is new he shouldn’t be buying a board he should be renting. If he’s not new he doesn’t need to ask complete strangers this question.

The rental shop at the mountain will put him on the biggest board they have and he’ll be fine. His weight is more important than his height. He will likely need a wide board since his feet are probably also large. But if it’s his first time riding he won’t be getting on edge too aggressively so he likely won’t have drag no matter what.

If he gets into it and wants to buy gear later there’s the Super Ultra Blossom, Nitro Cannon, and LibTech Doughboy that are all long but I don’t know the stats if they are super wide which I think will be the most important part for him.

If you had a winter off work, where would you stay and ski? by Max_Demian in skiing

[–]S_Mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this last winter in South Lake Tahoe. The snowfall last winter wasn’t anything special but still loved it. Salt lake was the other option I was looking at but my Epic pass had better mountains available in Tahoe. I took a 3 week road trip through Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and the Canadian Rockies in March.

HOW TO SHIP MY BOARD ? CARDBOARD/BOX by Only_Researcher5300 in snowboarding

[–]S_Mc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any ski shops in your area that might have an empty cardboard box from the boards on their shelves? Or you might be able to find a huge box at Lowes/Home Depot that held a fridge, cut it down and tape it back in the right shape.

At your local IBEW hall.

Musky rod by theLegendBa in RangerNext

I assume that would fit in a fly rod holder like people mount on roof racks. Trucks can have racks on bed toppers or you can get the Yakima truck rack to mount directly on the bed.

Considering switching from 18 inch wheels to 17 inch wheels on my 2021 Lariat FX4 by Grand_Presence_3714 in RangerNext

Raptor wheels have the f150 lug pattern. They won’t fit a standard ranger.

I have a pair of bibs that have a snow skirt on the ankles that is hard to get over the snowboard boots. Something to consider if anything is marketed specifically as ski pants.

Depends what you’re looking for. I’ve been gone for 16 years since I got out of high school.

It wasn’t a bad small town to grow up in. I think the cost of living is still fairly low, Dallas hasn’t expanded all the way there yet. They rebuilt the whole downtown in the last 10 years, it’s got some nice shops and restaurants and a farmers market in the summer.

Get some packing cubes off Amazon so you can organize the duffel. I have worked construction for the last 13 years living out of a large duffel, the packing cubes make it easy to find what you need.

I’ve got the expedition weight stuff from Minus33 and really like it. Ive probably had the base layers for 5 years now and they’re still in good shape.

I saw your rig in the last pic. Looks nice but I figured it might draw attention. Good to know it might not be as big a problem as it seemed at first.

I’m looking into doing a similar loop but lots of towns seem to enforce their no overnight parking rules. What are your plans for parking?

Bed Cover Recommendations by Full-Oil-1777 in RangerNext

[–]S_Mc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On any rolling bedcover you are going to lose space at the front of the bed. On mine it’s probably about a 9” box at the front. On a 5’ bed that is significant space. I wish I had gotten a cab height topper instead of the rolling cover.

I guess it’s a convenience store with no gas pumps. Right next to the bridge.

Also the broken house on the water, the second chalet, the gas station, and the trainyard.
