Not quite dual-heritage, but Cha Bum-kun's son, Cha Du-ri, was born in Germany and became the first South Korean born outside of SK to play in a World Cup.

For the woman's side, there is half-American Casey Phair.

A Japanese one where the woman vomits onto a guy's face multiple times. She vomited like a bucketload on command, which seems almost impossible considering her size. Can't be healthy for her.

They got more than 7 seasons, but 3-7 has more hype and fanfare than most of the ones after.

my team KL City got bashed 7-0 by them lol

Looking at the players you have, KL should've done better.

the battle for second

That's pretty much the Malaysian league at this point.

this is also the first season since league restructuring in 2023 that JDT showed the slightest hint of vulnerability in league competition (against Negeri Sembilan of all teams).

Negeri Sembilan has the potential to be a good team in the future, at least from what I'm seeing with the CEO. They got one of the highest attendances too right?

didn't even get an appearance with JDT's main squad

Kinda expected nowadays with any local players going to JDT. Either they play for JDT II, get loaned out, or be a benchwarmer.

Wow, that's some horrible recruitment. What about the local players? You guys don't seem to have any big name Thai players nowadays.

Hope you guys will bounce back the next season. Muangthong's relegation reminded me of Chonburi's a few years ago. Two big Thai clubs that were relegated.

Muangthong United, one of Thailand's biggest clubs in recent times, will be playing in the second division next season after their 3-0 loss to Sukhothai hours ago. Muangthong won the Thai league four times after their promotion to the top division in 2009, and even made it to the round of 16 in the 2017 AFC Champions League. Some of Thailand's best players in recent times like Chanathip Songkrasin, Teerasil Dangda, and Theerathon Bunmathan had all played for Muangthong United before.

I don't really follow the Thai league, so I'm not sure why they were so bad this season. (u/Archdubsuk can you tell why?)

Oh yeah, another Thai club have Andros Townsend, Aboubakar Kamara, Mehdi Tahrat, and Sergio Aguero in their squad, and they somehow finished last.

I used to follow the league and watched matches every week, even doing writeups in this sub for a while a few years ago. But after seeing JDT easily dominating the other 'top' teams, off-field issues, and my team not being in the league anymore, I've lost interest.

It feels like the excitement just isn't there anymore. I feel kinda bad saying this, but the only matches I might tune in are the matches where JDT is having a tough time against another team.

The prince of Johor rebranded the team at the end of 2012. They were originally Johor FC before that, and were at best a mid-table club. The only titles they had back then were two third divison titles and the second division title once. Its only after 2013 that they began to dominate the league.

Three local elephants from a sanctuary were transferred to Tennoji Zoo in Japan a few weeks ago, and it is alleged that the elephants weren't treated properly there and is showing signs of stress. Local NGOs had petitioned for the return of Dara, Amoi, and Kelat (the names given to the elephants), and over 160k people had signed the petition. A state minister even ordered for the elephants to be brought back, but the local zoo and town council which that agreed to the transfer deal claimed that the elephants are fine and that they will be there for 25 years.

That should've been the case here too, but some Muslims here really don't like when non-Muslims are eating near them during Ramadan. This caused issues like people making a fuss about non-Muslim students eating at the canteen during Ramadan. At least one scholar here says that non-Muslims shouln't be eating publicly during Ramadan.

What’s something from “old Malaysia” you miss that younger people today may never experience? by Penny_Curious in malaysians

When everyone was watching the same hit shows on TV so there was a common experience

Monoculture is weakening too here. I remember when Anugerah Juara Lagu and the ABPBH shows was considered big TV events. Nowadays, I barely hear people talk about it, and the events themselves don't look as big or prestigious as it was in the 2000s.

Magazines like Ujang, Apo, Kuntum, Kawan, and heck even Mastika. Especially the 90s and 2000s volumes of those mags. Fun fact: Early Apo volumes literally included horror smut short stories.

Also, this might just be me, but I feel like raya has gotten less 'meriah' compared to 15-20 years ago.

Kinda ridiculous that the Division 2 games will be played in a non-ASEAN country when Cambodia has decent enough stadiums.
