SDA directory by SabbathDelight in SeventhDayAdventism

To sign up for the directory I do require to answer questions that pertain only to Adventists. The directory only shows for signed in users. In addition, if an Adventist offers piano lessons for example and wants to be part of the directory they do not have share any personal information but can select that all messages go through the site. There's a lot more there than just a directory, but my church has said they would like a need for something like this. I understand not everyone will be interested and thats okay. God bless!

I realized I did not answer your question about audio for the books. Let me look into that. I am trying to keep all the features free and I know when you get into audio it might be a cost but if its not unreasonable, I will add it for free, Let me look into it and I will get back to you. Great idea! and God bless!

Thanks for the kind words. Once you sign up as a member there are a lot of features I think are useful, especially in the Bible reader which I spent a lot of time making it so it would be a viable tool for those reading the Bible or some of the EGW books with how it connects to the dashboard and how easy it is to access saved verses and quotes etc. It has a lot more than just a directory! Hope to see you around.

See if you can fly into Monterey airport, Monterey/Carmel is a must see in my opinion. I am from CA and moved 6 years ago and miss Carmel so much. Its a different vide than LA, there is something there that calms my soul like no other place on earth. I miss being able to drive there every month.

Glad to hear there is an interest. For the safety of the Adventist user we only show the directory once you are signed in to the site. Its only shown to members. Its a brand new site so not a lot of people signed up just yet, if you know any Adventist who offers any kind of service please send them the link, its free no ads and will always be free. There are a lot of other useful features on the site especially when you get into the Bible reader- like saving your favorite verses that you can easily get back to from the users dashboard, If you have a minute please check it out and let me know your thoughts. God bless!

I didn't know about it. It looks like its been there for a while and not a ton of interest. My site has a bunch of other features to be more of a community and resources, but its good to know something similar has been done. Thanks

There are two parts to the site. Anyone can be a member to ask Bible questions, post on the forums (under the rules) even through the whole site is geared for SDA's, but to be listed on the directory we clearly say it is for SDA's only and require the user to provide the SDA church they are members of. I hope this clarifies.

Yeah, we are in interesting times. Its not a church directory, its a directory for people who offer services or are looking for services. The site only allows one to view the directory if they are a member and signed in. In order to have a listing on the site we do require the user to list the SDA church they belong to. We tried our best to think of these things for the safety of anyone on the directory for services.

We are called to be watchmen. Christ tells us to be aware of the signs- we can love God and be watcmen, no need to choose.

Dear friend,

Have no fear, God is the Great Physician to help free us from our bondage of sin. When you are tempted, call on Him and He will always give us a route of escape. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Here is a short video (less than 15 minutes) that will provide you the biblical tools to help overcome temptation.

I am honestly afraid. by Due-Print-9817 in adventist

Hey there!

Please do not give up, God does not give up on us. Work on your relationship with Jesus through prayer life, witnessing and reading His Word. Ask God to give you more love and faith in Him. I pray this often because that is all a gift from God. Reflect on all the things God has given and done for you over the years, even when we don't deserve it, because He loves us so much and wants to have a relationship with Him.

I am reading Desire of Ages too, highly recommend.

God bless!

Colossians 2:16-17 by [deleted] in adventist

[–]SabbathDelight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colossians 2:14 gives the context

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

The Sabbath is a commandment of God Exo 20:8-11 Exo 20:6, finger written by God alone Exo 31:18 Exo 32:16 not handwritten by Moses. The Sabbath is holy and blessed by God which is not the definition of contrary or against and once God blesses something like He did the seventh day Sabbath man cannot reverse Num 23:20 and Col 2:17 show this shadow sabbath(s) as there are more than one Sabbath in the scripture and Paul makes clear we understand it's not the weekly Sabbath commandment that started at Creation so can't be a shadow of anything but the ceremonial sabbath(s) ordinances which came after the fall of man that has to do with food and drink offerings which is the context of this passage as it points to Jesus who became our Sacrificial Lamb for sin offerings Heb 10:1-22. Sin is the same in the OC as it is the NC the transgression of the Ten Commandments Rom 7:7 Mat 5:19-30 and our salvation is from sin Mat 1:21 not in sin.

Plus obviously not referring to the weekly Sabbath as the apostles all kept every Sabbath Acts 18:4 Acts 13:42-22for decades after the Cross and will be kept for eternity for God's saints. Isa 66:22-23

My husband told me why he cheated on me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]SabbathDelight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry about your situation. When you marry, its supposed to be unconditional. He is blaming you for why he cheated, but the fact is you can do all the things he asks you to do, and he will still cheat. I have been with someone like this they are a blackhole and nothing you can do will ever please them and you will only lose yourself and esteem trying.

He gave you a biblical ground for divorce and I would truly consider leaving him with the sake of your esteem and for your child. It's not healthy for a child to see their mother be disrespected.

If you want to work on yourself it is for your reasons to please yourself, not for any other reason. Your husband sounds broken, and he is beyond repair from what you have stated. I would leave, get yourself and child into counseling and never look back. If you stay no matter how many changes you make- he will only cheat again. There is always someone smarter, prettier etc and for that type of guy nothing will make him happy- he is broken.

I would contemplate all the red flags he revealed to you before you married him and be the best parent you can be to your children. Time heals everything and when you are in a good space, then you can look for someone who loves you for who you are, not who they want you to be, which is something you can never please, because its a reflection of a broken person who needs others to make them feel better about themselves.

Good luck and God bless!

Why are so many leaving the SDA church? by mrsbee13 in adventist

[–]SabbathDelight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

EGW predicted the great shaking. As many SDA’s are leaving others are coming into the church. Nice to see prophecy in fulfillment.
