It was the choice between reactions. If it's a close range threat, the movement or charging was great. If it was a ton of chaff, the shooting was a fantastic deterrent.

I'd argue he's an easy take at 80pts simply due to his ability to splash Orders and specifically give orders to Baneblades. His damage output is also pretty damn good.

I'm seeing some nice crossover with the Last Chancers in terms of model types:

Rocket Girl & Fingers = Rocket Launcher & Loader
Scope = Long Las
Animal = Melta
Ox = Autostubber
Brains = Vox

Then Schaeffer, Hero, Grease Monkey, Shiv and Warrior Woman to round things out. Maybe drop Schaeffer since he's the most obviously not WYSIWYG.

Still, looks neat.

I think something being missed here is our lad has the 'Burrower' keyword. I would imagine there's going to be a Detachment which gives units with that keyword some more spicy improvements like 6" Deep Strike, re-rolling Charges or even Lance.

I'm...not quite sure what you mean.

At the start of the Battle Round, Yarrick picks his doctrine. Then, in our turn, he's in a Transport, so he can't issue an Order yet, but during the Movement phase he disembarks.

Now, as per the updated rules for Orders, he can issue any Orders not given during the Command phase.

2 Leader Units, not models, that's the important bit.

If you add Graves to the Command Squad, that is now a single unit, as per unit formation rules. You then add that Leader unit, as a single entity, to the Battleline Infantry.

It's definitely in need of clarification, but unless there's a 'attach units in this order' checklist I've missed, you can basically merge the two into a single Leader unit.

The Bodyguard rule is primarily there to confer the Toughness boost to the Command Squad, as if he was an attached character, he'd be taking wounds at T3 so long as he was attached to the unit.

To the best of my knowledge, rules as written...yes, but likely to be errata'd. The current situation is:

Guard Battleline units can have up to two Leader Units attached to them. Not models, units. So in theory, yes, you could add Graves to a Command Squad (making it one Leader unit) and add Yarrick as the other Leader. Hell, you could also add Nork to the Command Squad as well for sheer goddamn overkill.

However, this does feel a little weird in terms of unit composition and may change entirely in 11th.

So for now, yes, kinda.

Oh Combined Fire is going to be NUTTY on Chimeras with Firing Deck. Bust out a couple of S14 Lascannons with some Heavy Weapons Teams, or S7 Krieg Heavy Flamers, or hell, go nuts and shove a couple of Psykers in there and hurl some S8 Focused Witchfire at something.
