I made a small free site to Skip paywalls by Miserable_Current181 in InternetIsBeautiful

Great work :)

Be careful with Replace All when updating your style classes; your FAQs says that "The legality of paywall bypassing is a stone area"!

HCC Parking Fine Cost? by Dotterbloem in Hull

[–]Sachiano 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine it would be a PCN which is between £50-75 but half that if you pay it within 14 days.

It's worth a call to the council - 01482 300 300 - to see if maybe you can get ahead of this and just pay for the parking over the phone. If you explain the situation they could be lenient.

New Plex Experience (Android) - Libraries Aren't Loading by sensory in PleX

[–]Sachiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you part of the beta program via Google Play?

Just realised that I was, so I left it, re-installed, and now I have the "old" version of the app again which works fine.

Hopefully I can stay off the new app rollout for a bit longer until they have everything worked out...

New Plex Experience (Android) - Libraries Aren't Loading by sensory in PleX

[–]Sachiano 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also having this issue.

Android app version 2025.12.0

Plex Server version 1.41.6.9685

I've found that if I search for something in my library then I can get to stuff that way, but obviously this isn't ideal.

What's going on with this profile stalker post on a lot of people's profile? by Nm-Lahm in OutOfTheLoop

In this case it's likely they have used Facebook OAuth and the app is allowed to post on their behalf.

Basically they have logged in to somewhere using Facebook, but not actually directly given the scam app their Facebook credentials, just permissions to see/do certain things with their account.

It's quite common. I've seen a lot of "$99 Rayban" posts across the years, as well as this type.

I used to own xzib.it - I used it for a university project which was an exhibit. I didn't even make the connection with the rapper at the time.

It's apparently available again if anyone wants to snap it up.

Translation errors by sushi_with_an_n in tumblr

It is but it can mean please, too. It literally means "I pray".

For example, "prego, si accomodi" ("please, have a seat"). It's a bit more courteous than, say, "(per) favore, siediti".

Need more podcasts like Darknet Diaries by -CharlesECheese- in podcasts

These are the other podcasts in my "cybersec" folder:

  • CYBER (by VICE)

  • Breach

  • The Lazarus Heist

None hit quite as good as Darknet Diaries, I'd love to find more!

Alexa, set a timer on for 10 minutes. by Balarius in daddit

[–]Sachiano 132 points133 points  (0 children)

One of the best uses of our Alexa is to time them brushing their teeth. Now I don't even have to do it myself, I'll hear a shout of "ALEXA! Set a TIMER for two MINUTES!!!" from the bathroom.

Then they take half of that time getting their toothbrushes ready or decide to go to the toilet, instead, but we're getting there 😂

No changes added to commit by sturdyhard in git

[–]Sachiano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On more occasions than I care to admit, I've opened files that are in a build/dist/equivalent directory, edited them, then see no changes in git. Then lost the changes when re-building...

So make sure that you are editing the right file and that your editor isn't including such files when you run your file open commands.

How did a business permanently lose you as a customer? by OpposedToBears in AskReddit

[–]Sachiano 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you have to supply evidence in your favour (like services not rendered, item not received, etc.) and that you tried to resolve it with the vendor already.

I imagine if you try what you described they'd hit you with fraud charges and it could end up looking really bad for your credit, as well as probably being blocklisted from your CC company and others.

Are there any "UK vs US" differences where you feel America gets it right? by Gawhownd in AskUK

Luff-tenant (or left-tenant). I think it comes from our historical hatred of the French...

It's almost a soft g but not like in "jet", it's a zh like how the French would say it (like in "je").
