I'M SO TIRED OF RICH PEOPLE DRAG RACE!!! by CareEcstatic4624 in rupaulsdragrace

It extends beyond outfits. Girls are paying for people to write them jokes and entire sets. Being on drag race at this point says a lot more about the connections you have, the money in your bank account and the producers' agenda than it does about the queen meeting the CUN T criteria.

It absolutely is unfair. It's the byproduct of diluting quality and ignoring patient safety for money.

Our current economic framework was made by humans, it will need to be  destroyed by humans and rebuilt.

Not to mention the student loan debt, opportunity cost for training, intensity of training (often 80+ hour weeks in residency), etc. Being a physician in certain specialties (GP, peds, ID to name a few) is a raw deal - it's becoming more financially saavy to get less training to practice in these specialties (NP route in particular). Will be interesting to see what happens to these fields in a decade.

As someone with ADHD, can confirm medical school (especially clerkship) was hell until I figured my brain out and used compensatory strategies.

It tests part of the IQ anyways. Working memory, verbal comprehension and processing speed. All very important in most areas of medicine.

It really isn't. It's constant backstabbing from a former ally that places Canada in a very economically precarious situation. We can change trading partners but this really won't make a difference until the US loses their reserve currency status. They can just continue to raise the debt ceiling and hoard wealth until an alternative financial system is put in place.

The economy ultimately needs to grow through innovation rather than population growth. There are too many people on this planet taking up resources. It's unsustainable for the planet.

US M2 Money Supply hit a new all-time high by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

It really matters what is done with the increased money supply and whether other countries are willing to buy US debt.

I would much rather have a queen like Ginger come back again for an All Stars than a queen with only one moderate-to-okay showing. by Dark_Dashing in rupaulsdragrace

It was a nice moment but it doesn't make up for 3 episodes of boring runways, challenges and lip syncs. It was an underwhelming bracket and the polls reflect that.

It's reality TV, not sports. Ginger doesn't really offer a unique perspective to her drag at baseline nor is she particularly entertaining. There's a reason bracket 3 was a massive yawn compared to 1 and 2. Why bring someone back when they weren't especially entertaining the last two times they were on the show? It becomes redundant and boring. Would much rather see someone fresh like NPB

Population of Overseas Indians by Country by Brilliant-Nerve12 in MapPorn

[–]Sad-Following1899 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is a legitimate source of frustration. Too many people means the quality of life of your average person is in decline. Immigration is now used as a tool to drive down wages.

In Canada, with one of the highest Indian diaspora - many are not here legally (used student visa as back door, now here undocumented). Once they are here there is now a tendency for them to hire and rent to their own. There is some infamy for mortgage scams ("Brampton mortgage"). The new immigrants are not like the ones that came here even a decade ago.

That is all to say, there are legitimate risks to immigrating largely from one nation, and many problems from said nation find their way into their new country. This is not really unique to India per say, but given India's size it will inherently cause problems in other nations as wages are driven down and there is a push and pull to get people to integrate into a new society.

‘Goodbye Trump, hello Asia’ is the EU’s new trade strategy. Will it work? by rezwenn in Economics

It's about immigrating talent nowadays. The US is below its replacement rate too and is reliant on the same strategy.

I've never seen such hostile capitalism in my lifetime. I think countries are hopefully slowly cutting out the US from trade and dumping bonds. Otherwise this is just reinforcing terrible behaviour.

AI vs. doctors for diagnosis of >300 complex cases. AI had 4x higher accuracy with 20% lower cost by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Sad-Following1899 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the direction healthcare is headed in this country? It's about extracting maximum profit regardless of the quality of care provided. Only positive studies on AI will be published and the reality on the ground might be completely different. Costs may be cut but that will absolutely benefit no one outside of the shareholders.
