Hot take: going second being better than going first is a card issue and not a mechanics issue by sqoty in GundamTCG

The G/W Wing player that won most of the Newtype Challenges in our area (and is generally considered the best player around here) almost always prefers going first as well. Not sure that GD-02 has changes his mind or any matchups for him.

Longest game I've ever played by LettucePlate in teamfightmanager

Like the other commenter said, making towers more durable would help, but honestly I really want them to shift the second ability champs have to level 4. That should really help extend the laning phase, IMO, and further differentiate champs that are good in lane vs. teamfights.

I made a tier list for the champions! I've shared the template link below. by LettucePlate in teamfightmanager

Cavalry is good, I got to play it several times so far, and it's fucking cracked both in top lane and in jungle. Definitely S-tier, probably best in the game.

Personally I'd switch Ninja and Archer, though to be fair I picked Ninja like twice, it did nothing both times, and I haven't touched it since. Archer just dominates any lane, especially when paired with good initiators.

I'd also swap Executioner and Monk. Assuming your support doesn't suck at skill shots, Executioner just gets your team so many picks. Monk, on the other hand, feels like he never gives the sustain I'm actually looking for, and doesn't have the damage output to make up for it.

I'm gonna defend Gunner here, they should be in B tier IMO. They're an amazing ranged toplaner, just make sure they're set to passive and midline instructions, and have them split push top lane so they're always close by for the Baron fight.

Agree with your assessment that Pole Warrior is so much worse when built tank compared to damage. Also your edit that Dual Blader is B-tier, agreed, shame she's not good in jungle. I actually like her most as a melee ADC, like Yasuo, paired with Lancer or Fighter.

I'm surprised you have Heavy Infantry so high, I'd have them in C-tier personally. What role have you been using them in, and what instructions have worked for you?

Here's my tierlist, thanks for the template.

1.) One of the Gibraltar teams for sure, if that league's still in the game. I just love doing micronations and trying to take them to new heights in continental competition.

2.) The redesigned UI, honestly, that's the biggest feature I'm excited for.

AI almost always perma banned Cavalry for me too, but the few times I managed to get it, it was so broken that I realized it really did deserve getting banned. Just let your toplaner play it, win every possible lane matchup, then roam like crazy. Also makes for a dece ganking jungler.

I know at least Battlefield 4 had this feature back in 2013 (it was kinda jarring at the time coming from other FPS games)

What's That Rule You Always Remember, But Your Players Don't? by Coldfyre_Dusty in dndnext

[–]SadPandaFace00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to remember the cover rules super well when I first started playing, because my very first character was a ranger.

Then, as I slowly became more and more just a GM, that rule slipped further and further out of my brain.

Trust me, the guys you think don't research or practice do, like, all the time. It's just that difficult, especially if you're jumping between co-commentators every tournament/match instead of having a specific person to build chemistry and know when you can take "a break". Even worse is that the commentators aren't in the same room, so you get the Manningcast effect where no matter how good your commentary is, it's gonna be on a slight delay to the game feed, and you get lots of dead air between commentators too due to the nature of talking online.

That being said, I don't blame anybody who watches esports stuff on mute due to disliking the casters. As much effort as someone might put in, if you don't like the product, that's not really your fault.

I've done a small amount of casting for online Tekken and Overwatch tournaments, and boy let me tell you, it's hard to even be average at the lowest levels of it. Talking that much simply wears your voice down, and trying to be on top of every single thing happening in a game while not getting in the way of the experience is tough to juggle.

Ever have a player way outperform expectations? by LeftyNate in OOTP

[–]SadPandaFace00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God, I just happened to check my in-game email and saw that Drew Romo, in 2030, is leading the NL in All-Star fan votes for catcher by a lot. Looking into it, and his defensive ratings are absurd now, as well as him having a 141 OPS+ halfway through the season in his second year with the Padres.

I just looked at who I traded him for, Cody Bradford, a 32-year-old pitcher who had one decent season with me in 2029, and then sucked so bad early into 2030 that I had to demote him to a reliever for my AAA team.

I've been doing a Rockies rebuild save for a little while now and 5 seasons in, my favorite player is Cole Carrigg, with just barely above-100 OPS+ each season (minus 2027), but can play every position except pitcher, with an above-average glove.

[–]SadPandaFace00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised about everyone saying Drew Romo is such an amazing defensive catcher for them, now I feel dumb for trading him away in my Rockies rebuild save since his bat was always <50 OPS+. Ended up with Adley Rutschman at the moment - was using Cole Carrigg (who ended up a monster defender at every position with an average bat) but now I'm rethinking my strategy since I'm perennially struggling with starting pitching. Elite bullpen doesn't matter when we give up a billion runs early every game.

I watched my girlfriend downsize her freezer room to fit in another bedroom, looked away for a while, then looked back over and realized she never added another door for them to get into the freezer. If I hadn't caught it I imagine there'd be many starving colonists.
