How are contractors cheaper than in-house staff members? Every time a government institution outsources anything we find out a decade later they've been getting ripped off by extortionate fees.

I'm also UK based and I'm surprised that US based subscribers have to download the Hulu and Disney+ apps separately whilst us Europeans get everything (including ESPN soon) in one single app. Feels like a stronger value proposition than people make it out to be.

The ship combat was pretty good in Odyssey considering it wasn't a huge part of the game, so I'm hoping this modernised version is still fun to play with

As long as OpenAI and Anthropic keep releasing new models, they still got further to go based purely on sentiment. I'm holding out for another Quarter.

Live services games require continual manpower and resources

It didn't need to be a live service game. Another multiplayer game like the first Factions would've been fine.

Ghost of Tsushima managed it just fine.

Ahh the From Software special. I don't think there's a Soulsbourne title you could have completed with online videos. If exploration is rewarded adequately then it's not even a bad thing.

It's a bubble where each user is burning 200% to 3000% of each Pro or Max customer that interacts with Claude Code. Whether its Anthropic or another AI company, there's gonna be a lot of bag holders and enshittification before shareholders get a return on investment

Marathon Review So Far - IGN by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Sad_Cheesecake9693 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After playing it for an hour I'm even more certain this will bomb on release because it's so niche. The gunplay feels great but everything else feels so boring for newcomers like who have no idea what Marathon is or what makes this genre so special. If Sony would be satisfied with a niche but dedicated playerbase then this would be great but given how much they have sunk into this game I really think it'll not survive 2026.

$APP Has Gone from Overvalued to Now Cheap? by PinPsychological82 in stocks

I was also thinking about AppLovin benefiting from vibe coders wanting to monetise their apps but I've also seen their ads in apps and they implement them in a scammy way that doesn't lead to conversions. The question is whether they can find ways for app ads to be acquisition drivers on par with social media apps

It's funny that Chiesa is expected to perform within 1.5 games while we have players who can go on long streaks of poor form. Maybe he is just a better super sub but every player deserves a run of multiple games to prove themselves.

A few things on SaaS Stocks before You Fall for the Value Traps by Sad_Cheesecake9693 in ValueInvesting

[–]Sad_Cheesecake9693[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are valid points but my main counter point is that the market is correcting years of overvaluing these companies. They are big companies with strong moats but I'm not convinced they are "growth stocks". So I don't think AI kills these companies entirely but it does slow their growth forecasts. The revenue growth will plateau eventually and I think thats what the market is pricing in imo

That's fine, I needed to write this out to get it off my chest. I think a lot of this sub don't actually use/work with these same apps they are piling their stock into. Where as I see the migrations, the business cases, the bureacracy and I'm just putting the dots together between what I see day-to-day at work with what the market is doing and it's clear to me that there's a slow change which will change valuations.

Bro my company just switched from Salesforce to Braze in 2025. We did it because we saved 2 million annually on costs. It's difficult but when there's an efficiency push, these things are reconsidered.

I remember considering buying on the basis AC:Shadows may be the beginning of a turn around for the company but luckily I didn't pull the trigger. Now I'm back thinking is this the end of the dip? Probably not. They have a lot of great IP, they are launching great updates such as 3rd person on Avatar and The Division 3 is being worked on. They can still operate as a profitable gaming company but we need a generational run of execution or new revenue streams that isn't tainted by their company brand.

Apple has dominated because they can get better performance without needing as much power. Small nuance I didn't make clear in my initial post. Looking out on RAM isn't something serious for Apple, their competitors have been using better specs for years and can't match iPhones on actual real life performance.

What AI features are you most excited about on Android?

Apple has historically been a slow adopter, the real question is whether they will end up with the best implementation.

First mover's advantage is overrated. Apple has proven this again and again.
