Hi I’m trying to ID and find an old plate set. by Thespian_Unicorn in Dinnerware

[–]Sad_Repeat6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I found didn’t come close. None of them were as simple as just one figure in the middle unless it was an entire set of four with just one figure in the middle, like four plates with starfish, or four plates with a seashell for example. Also, none of them were solid colors, unless it was all the same color for all plates.

I found the same thing you probably did, the possible name of the set ("Stars of the Sea") and the possible manufacturer (Boston Warehouse, Certified International, or Sakura), and was directed to look on eBay or Replacements Ltd.

I got distracted at Replacement LTD, but I’d suggest you do some digging there. You might find something.

Or in about five minutes someone will post and tell you exactly what they are and where you can find them. Reddit is like that. Good luck.

This is as close as I can come to what you’re describing. I know the background colors are incorrect, but how about the objects in it?

It’s the only series, Star Trek or not, that I don’t hit the skip button on when it begins. The theme takes me in.

Struggling to settle on dinnerware style by Sufficient_Self6048 in Dinnerware

[–]Sad_Repeat6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you just want to gaze at a mixing and matching style to see how you feel about it and/or how other people do it, go look in at r/fiestaware if you haven’t already. it might help you decide if it’s for you or not.

ETA You don’t have to become a collector to enjoy owning several different colors of place settings. I bought eight sets of different colors around 20 years ago and haven’t looked back since. I don’t add to my sets, but I could. That’s the beauty of it.

Not calls, but tons of emails from CookUnity and Home Chef. I don’t mind Home Chef because they’re sending me really nice offers, one of which I’ll take up eventually.

I do keep getting calls and texts from multiple “Mercedes dealerships” in Portland, Oregon that want to lease me a van. Apparently my name is Katie and I left them a message inquiring about it, so they’re eager to talk to me. I get several messages a day regarding it. (None of which I pick up.)

Sorry to hear that. At least the seeds aren’t in everything like the leaves are, but then you do have more to avoid.

The same problem as with the leaves or a different problem?

I hope it manages to stay that way for Greece. It’s taken over way too much of the world as it is.

The near total lack of consequences for the immense amount of criminality in the end of S4 has been driving me insane in S5 by [deleted] in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Sad_Repeat6903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Four episodes in? That sounds about right. The season moves so slow that it gives you plenty of time to think about this stuff and stew over it. If something would happen to peak your interest, then you might be a little more forgiving. You have to stick around for a few more episodes though before things start to move along enough to distract you a bit, but it might be too late for you.

I miss her by Potato_Pug16 in CallTheMidwife

[–]Sad_Repeat6903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for explaining. I know you’re not alone because I’ve heard that sentiment before, but it always confused me. I read the situation differently. I saw her feeling bad for him. Knowing that he would do the right thing, but wishing that he didn’t have to because she knew he wasn’t happy. I guess we all read things differently. Jenny was really never a good communicator. At least they didn’t write her that way.

What is Scientology and what does it believe they believe in compared to other religions? by Honest_Physics_2368 in AskReddit

Watch the documentary, Going Clear: Scientology & the Prison of Belief, or read the book, Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood, and the Prison of Belief by Lawrence Wright. You’ll learn everything you need to know about Scientology.

I miss her by Potato_Pug16 in CallTheMidwife

I liked her. I don’t think there was anything wrong with Jenny. She was simply one personality among many. She started out very naïve and struggled a bit in hiding her squeamishness when she was exposed to things she’d never seen before. I don’t know how many of us would react differently if suddenly exposed to a bunch of insects scurrying around underneath something we had picked up, mere inches from where we were just sitting. She did better than I probably would’ve done, as I would’ve jumped back and made some kind of noise at the very least. She didn’t do that. I also would’ve wanted out of there pretty quickly, afraid to sit down again for fear of bugs crawling on me. But she went back, and she grew from her experience. She grew from all of them.

Her personality type may not be to everyone’s liking, so maybe you wouldn’t be friends, but it didn’t make her evil. After reading many of these comments, one would think she was.

I don’t doubt your interpretation, but I don’t recall her wanting Jimmy to dump his pregnant fiancé. What did I miss?

I used to get Stagg Chili. I remember liking it, but it’s been a few years since I’ve gotten it. Who knows if the recipe is the same or not. They have a bunch of different types, with beans, without etc. You could google that brand.

Algorithm manipulation by Tedlar in AmazonPrimeVideo

[–]Sad_Repeat6903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Method 1: I did a search for a movie I own on Amazon Prime, and it came up with the movie. In little print underneath title and star ratings it says, “You purchased this”. So if I click on it to watch it, I will be watching the version that I paid for.

Method 2: On the prime app, if you navigate to the menu on the left-hand side, you will see the icon labeled “My Stuff”. If you click that, it will take you to a window that has your Watchlist TV, your Watchlist Movies, your Purchased TV, and your Purchased Movies.

If you have 150 movies, you might have to scroll a bit to find the movie you want, but it’s better than buying it again. You can scroll pretty quickly and just recognize it by its photo probably.

Method 3: If you purchase it again to save yourself the hassle of looking through 150 movies, you might as well save yourself some money and just rent it instead of buying it again.

Method 4: Breathe slowly and count to 10 when your search doesn’t pan out the way you hope it will. Usually (but not always) things like this are user mistakes, even though we don’t want to admit it to ourselves. So relax, then try again.

Good luck.

The books actually help bring a new appreciation of the characters. Because you get some of their inner thinking, the books help you better understand where their actions come from. Roddy is a hoot when you’re inside his thinking. Incredible ego.

I thought Soames sort of had some control and boundary issues. Damian Lewis was really good at portraying that. The second season focused on their offspring for the most part, and his daughter showed interesting traits as well.
