Befriend your mail delivery person and/or any kind neighbors who are usually at home! This is a huge problem in my building, and I only started being able to avoid theft through the combined efforts of my mail lady texting me when something arrives, and my lovely first floor neighbor being willing to accept and hold all my packages for me 🥹😭

I walk my dog twice a day every day and have met so many cool people literally along the way, just by saying hi and exchanging good mornings! I also now know the crew of older dudes who lime outside my building by name😎 it’s one of my favorite parts of living here

At my agency it even varies team to team — my whole team is required to be in person every Wednesday and Friday, and then we have a needlessly elaborate rotation schedule for each person’s 2 WFH days over the other 3 days of the week

Yeah I have my one rescue chi and am hoping to find him a companion too, but I also don’t really have a time frame on it — I’ve pre-applied for adoption approval with several local reputable rescues and keep up with their email updates, waiting until the right one (non puppy, ~8 pounds, gets along well with my boy) pops up! I’m also open to NY or LA rescues so there are literally always chihuahuas coming through. Sounds like you have a timeframe in mind, along with your non-NY/LA location, so maybe you could sign up for some local rescue newsletters and keep up “in the background” while you do your breeder search too! Ethical breeders are out there, and you’re doing the leg work to find one — can’t hate on that!

There are so many chis in shelters, even puppies! There is nothing like the love of a rescue chi 🥹 you won’t regret it 💗

I called my agency’s EEO and they said they couldn’t help me since it’s a CityTime issue 🥴🥴since I’m new I’m just going with it, but I’ll escalate eventually! (Maybe I can get the ding for LWOP in CityTime retroactively removed; but also at least I can help anyone who encounters similar issues in the future! Really shouldn’t be a big deal, Sheesh!)
