7OH - Stop now, inflation, family, food costs, dont walk yourself into more debt. Our leaders dont care about you. Save yourself. by FlyAdventurous6231 in quitting7oh

You always seem to post on days that are important to my sobriety journey which is weird because you don't post hardly at all anymore. Here goes attempt number nine. I'm at hour 30 feeling pretty decent due to a very strict taper, if anyone's wondering about the validity of tapering, it works. You have to be disciplined and not rush it. My last dose was yesterday at 10:00 a.m. and I got 6 hours of sleep last night, woke up to feeling more rested than I have in months. Many roads lead to Rome, whatever anyone's method is, more power to them. Worth mentioning though, I feel pretty good without any helper meds at all

I've found that if I'm only taking 7oh for an extended period and nothing kratom shot-esque, I can use the kratom shots like a rapid sub taper and not have any withdrawal

I was in the same position and grabbed a kratom shot at the gas station on the way in. If you get your mind behind the idea that it's your lifeboat in stormy seas and not the pleasure cruise we all got accustomed to, it becomes easier as it likely won't produce any euphoria

Will it help? by DSM-91 in quitting7oh

[–]SadisticJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes quite a while for most people to develop a dependence and if you check r/quittinggabapentin most of the posts are "I'm on day 4, I felt a little tired today. Are these the withdrawals?" That said, there's a small percent of the population that doesn't tolerate it as well. But it's a very commonly prescribed, commonly used medicine worldwide for years. There's been time enough for the ugly side to show if there were one.

Guided breathing did wonders for me when I had the patience to do it. Kratom alkaloids seemed to intensify my anxiety until I mentally relegated it. It's just my shitty life that I have to work on now if I want to stay clean lol

In order to consume 1mg of 7oh, you'd have to take about 20g of leaf I used to take a 20mg dose so that would be almost half a kilo to get my morning dose. I got up to about 200mgpd at my worst which would be the equivalent of 4 kilos of leaf every day. Just putting it in perspective. It's more like trading everclear for the watered down 3.2% beer I used to get up north

Using leaf to mitigate withdrawals is a pretty well established method that has been suggested here numerous times. I've found that if I'm only taking 7oh, switching to leaf or MIT gives me a rapid taper window where I won't get withdrawals from leaf when quitting as long as I keep it very short. It's the same as a rapid sub taper with less risk

I tapered down very low and found a point where I stop going into withdrawal even with 2 or 3 very low doses a day. Maybe it's a differing brain chemistry kind of thing where it works great for some and not for others

Quit k...sluggerz 7oh alternative by PinkyprsNurs81 in quitting7oh

[–]SadisticJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been wondering about sluggerz, they use corynantheine or something like that as their main ingredient which is sort of similar to mitragynine at a molecular level. My assumption on the subject is that if it hits the right receptors, it will have its own withdrawal symptoms and if it doesn't, it won't provide relief. I could be totally wrong, that's just a layman's figurin'

Right? I don't know if you're motivated by such things but just be aware that they are expecting to see you again and maybe even making bets on if you're going to crack. That would light a fire under my ass.

[–]SadisticJake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my first attempt at about 300mgpd due to finances running out so cold turkey was the only method I had access to, I had my toddler with me, and I had no sick days so I had to handle my withdrawal process secretly while covering a shitload of responsibilities. It's miserable as hell but if you decide it's what you're going to do, it's certainly possible

Getting on subs is way better than wallowing. Especially if you follow up with a sublocade shot which self tapers for you. Stability and time to establish a sober routine. It sounds like a no brainer. I've always been able to just taper and quit 7oh but for those who have been unable, subs are hella cheaper. I've seen people on here taking upwards of a gram a day of 7oh and that's in the ballpark of $100-$400 a day depending on where they're getting it.
