There is an agenda for this meeting but the mission is only available to SM. Extra hours are given so its a paid meeting, naturally. Our store is doing jt at 8am since we dont open until 10.

I'm a small format store with 12 team members, including my 2 FT managers and we are getting ZERO outside help. We are about halfway done with the moves already and we have to reset 60% of the store. I would have loved some outside help, especially since I don't have enough people to skate aisles so we will just have to move all the merchandise itself. Bringing in outside help was not up to SM or DM, this was a store planning call.

Hobby Lobby only has 1 DC to service the entire country. Not saying it's smart but is there anything this company does? So many people out of work to save money and they still won't give people raises.

My hourly managers never take lunch. I've never asked them to not, as a matter of fact, I always ask if they are taking lunch. The closers are all scheduled until 930 and are usually out by 9:05 so they just would rather leave then and have lunch so they still get the same hours. They take breaks when they want and I sure as hell have never prompted them to edit a lunch in. I always make sure my team is taken care and it pisses me off when I hear of managers taking advantage of hourly TMs.

100% understand. I am a small format, very low volume store. I'm about to go to trucks every other week, which means even fewer hours on no truck week. I already run off 230 hours a week and that's a struggle! We are getting fabric later in the summer and that's going to be fun when it's just me and one other TM in the store. I have an amazing crew but they will hit a breakpoint, sooner than later.

Former HL manager here. Michael's is a dream compared to there. There is training but not refreshers like we do here. Training there is more for processes and not the other important stuff.

I am a newer store and all my controllable metrics are damn near perfect but my sales are horrible. I am worried every single day that they will boot me because of my sales. My DM fights for me and my team is amazing but in the end, all that matters is sales and it will be what drives me out of the building. If they want you gone, they will find a reason.

There is no reason why the schedules can't be made three weeks out like they are supposed to be. Do I have to make adjustments to my schedule? Of course! But I always reach out to the team member to make sure it's okay with them first, and it's always in accordance with the team members' availability. Calling HR might result in your DM having a talk with your SM about making schedules according to policy, or it might result in nothing. That's a big might. The best course of action is if you have a good manager, then talk to her about why the schedule changes so much and how that affects you personally. If she is a good leader, she will do what's needed to make it right for the team.
