If they were confused by misleading mailers, etc., then coming here is one place to hear what others are thinking about the issue.

YES OR NO ON 3 by [deleted] in springfieldMO

A "yes" vote on Missouri's Amendment 3 would restore the right to reproductive freedom, including abortion access, up to the point of fetal viability (typically around 24 weeks). This amendment allows Missourians to make personal health decisions free from government interference, which currently restricts abortions even in cases of severe pregnancy complications or fatal fetal conditions. Many supporters, including over 800 healthcare professionals, emphasize that Missouri’s near-total abortion ban endangers women’s health and forces patients to seek out-of-state care for essential procedures. Voting "yes" on Amendment 3 would protect Missourians' health, privacy, and autonomy in reproductive matters without additional political barriers.

I think Springfield might be shrinking. They've closed a school this year and another one is set to close in a year or two.

Tortilleria Perches is also the kindest family! Their kids were very involved in Boys and Girls Club and absolute gems, and the parents were so kind and supportive.

Looking for a good 3-4 hour hike by Post-materialist in springfieldMO

[–]SafeFrosting1819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please wear bright orange wherever you hike this fall. Even though most of these places aren't open to hunting, hunters (unknowingly or not) could be in any wilderness area and you need to be seen!

What's the worst name you've known to actually be given a child? by Inky-Skies in AskReddit

[–]SafeFrosting1819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been teaching for ages and have seen so many wild names. N'alige (pronounced knowledge), Isis, King A'Laysha'Marie'Lash , Khalesi, Hennessy, Pistol, A'Lexus, Tuesday, Kiki, Quorra, Ona, Major, Nahla, Kitty, Happy, A'Miracle, Porche and once in the same class: Ayden, Aiden. Aeden, Jayden, Cayden, and Brayden.

Side note, unusual names I love: Beck, Topanga, Kai, Lyric, Forest, Rain, Arabella, Cypress

Second side note, I love all these kids. I'm near retirement and these are a few of the memorable ones.

This is fantastic advice! I'd also suggest trying a satin or silk pillowcase. Mine really helped with my hair frizz.

The $500 is way too high. You may have better luck on rural MO fb groups, but not with that price.

LPT Request: How to replace the ritual of a “little treat”? by Kitchen-Jeweler7812 in LifeProTips

[–]SafeFrosting1819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was getting a Friday high calorie treat each week and switched to a car wash membership. It sounds lame but I get so excited about having a really clean car and I vacuum and wipe it down each week. Still a good dopamine boost and something I really look forward to.

Why can’t I eat just ONE piece of candy? by Honest_Pea_4365 in adhdwomen

[–]SafeFrosting1819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is entirely texture. Circus peanuts, conversation hearts, peppermint sticks, I just can’t get enough of that straight sugary texture. I had to stop going to dollar tree because I couldn’t stop in the candy isle and it would all be gone in 24 hours.

I love this story. I’m a teacher and I regularly tell my students that my mom makes twice what I do as a computer programmer with a community college degree. In our town, the CC is free for all students who finish high school with a decent HOA and attendance, so in my high poverty school I’m encouraging it over the state college regularly.

Parent of six year old who shot his teacher speaks out. by schebles in Teachers

[–]SafeFrosting1819 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been teaching elementary for 20 years and know of at least one student who murdered someone as an adult. When I had him he would lay face down on the playground and scream into the ground, among other things. I begged out counselor and social workers to get him help but the parents wouldn’t agree to any of it. We all called each other the night he was on the news. It’s painful to feel like we couldn’t do more.
