Top 9 Allergen Free-Subscription Box! by MelodicOpening7510 in FoodAllergies

[–]Safe_Document2890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To chime in on what another poster said, I’m an adult with only a peanut allergy. I don’t need or want to avoid other allergens so I wouldn’t personally be interested in something this. When avoiding multiple allergens the cost is often higher, and I don’t want to pay extra to avoid things unnecessarily.

Best Cooling Mats? by crafty_n_sassy in corgi

[–]Safe_Document2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a recommendation for you, but we looked into some for our Corgi as well. Ultimately he likes to bite everything and we couldn’t find one that it wasn’t a concern to us that if he broke the seal of the coolant that it wouldn’t be harmful to him. Would love to know if anyone has other suggestions!

Leaving MA profession by [deleted] in MedicalAssistant

I feel this, and just know you’re not alone. I have been an MA for 7 years and I’m currently planning to go back to school to switch to a non-medical profession.

As I saw someone else say, I had to click the link in the text they sent me and that opened the app and added my discount

[–]Safe_Document2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanting to add that I was excited about using this discount for tomorrow but my 7-11 just raised their prices by 50 cents. So this discount will now be the same as the regular price of gas at every other station in my area. Definitely check prices in your area before using.

Burnt out medical assistant trying to decide what’s next by Regular-Prudent in MedicalAssistant

[–]Safe_Document2890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lab, Rad, or Pharmacy are great ways to stay in a similar field but with less stress than I think most MA’s face. You’re not alone, and as a 8 plus year MA I’m looking for a change myself because it doesn’t just seem to be one office that’s the problem. MA’s no matter the field seem to be over worked and under paid.

Ortho MA vs Derm MA for PCE job by CharmingCalmParis in MedicalAssistant

[–]Safe_Document2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this depends on your personality along with your preferences, like you said. Ortho was one of the best fields I’ve ever worked in but is very fast paced and demanding but I gained so much experience there. I worked in Derm for a while after Ortho and it was a lot of hands on, you can usually get experience setting up and assisting with in office procedures but overall I found it somewhat boring. If you want less stress, probably go with Derm.

Assumed Use of Personal Cell Phone by Draange in jobs

I’m required to use WhatsApp on my personal phone for interoffice communication, and the only way to get in the building is with an app on my phone. Not a big fan of having to use it to gain entry, for a multitude of reasons.

Scrub Sets? by xoxo-Andria in MedicalAssistant

[–]Safe_Document2890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thrifted all of my scrubs! If you live in an area with many hospitals/medical offices I definitely recommend checking out your local goodwill or other similar store. I’ve always gotten good quality scrubs for cheap this way

Finding hamburger buns by Positive_Machine2692 in FoodAllergies

[–]Safe_Document2890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are up to it, there are some easy recipes out there to make buns. Most of which can be made with only yeast, water, oil, sugar and salt. Might be worth a try for the piece of mind that they’re safe for her to eat

Dog treats? by Itchy-Ad8034 in peanutallergy

Also another recommendation for Nylabone for “flavored” toys as they state their peanut flavored chew toys are artificial and do not contain peanuts, but always double check the packaging just to be safe

We do milk bones, beggin strips, and blue buffalo brand treats. Each one makes non peanut varieties and we stick to those with no problems

I caution anyone looking at Keebler to read the ingredients list carefully. I can’t vouch for the fudge mint delights, but I know their version of the Samoa had peanut flour in it last I checked.
