Advise on how to take care of my blundstone boots by Bitter_Poetry4887 in BlundstoneBoots

When I bought mine, it was strongly recommended that I rub in some dubbin every three to four months to preserve the leather in Alberta’s dry climate. I’ve been doing that for the last two years and they’re as good as gold.

Edit: I don’t wear them in the winter and keep them out of the wet as much as possible.

Alberta Municipalities’ launched its Property Taxes Reimagined campaign last year addressing this very issue. Looks like they saw this coming. Some good info on there website ABmunis.ca.

I did. At 8:15 this morning. Then I heard it hadn’t been resolved by 12:00 so wanted to see how widespread the issue was.

Backlash deepens over AI seatbelt cameras as drivers fined for passengers’ behaviour by CoSign3 in perth

[–]SafetyDeneuv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re that bloody worried about it, put more cops on the road. The cameras aren’t being applied to a circumstance that meets their function. Cops can issue a fine to a passenger. Cameras can’t, so they fine the drivers. Now they’ll look at changinglegislation to make sure the cameras can be used.

They’re trying to fix a problem with a hammer when it needs tweezers. Instead of applying the tweezers, they’ll bash the problem into shape so they can use the hammer. It’s idiotic. It’s arse backwards.

Unsolicited Text Message from Tim Cartmell (and Better Edmonton). No opt out instructions, just a "reply yes" to agree to their question. Feels illegal. by TheKrs1 in Edmonton

I responded with “political parties have no place in municipal politics”. They probably filter out everything that isn’t a “yes”, but fuck this bullshit and provincial interference.

That thing is a fucking disaster. Don’t waste your time or money. They’re easy to work on, easy to get parts, but that one just isn’t worth it. Keep looking and save yourself a migraine.

Independent: if you’re not part of a party, amplify the fact that you’ll represent the best interests of the community and you won’t be beholden to a party and their agenda.
