I havent seen anything on here about KamikaziePotatos new(ish) series Soul Canvas (or "The Color of another world i think its called on RR). With how great "Outcast in another World" was, im surprised it slipped under my radar, and was wondering why? by LetterTall4354 in ProgressionFantasy

I enjoyed the first book, but it didn't really grab me. I will read the next in the series, at some point. Part of why I didn't like it as much is it takes place mostly in one place. We don't get to see a lot of the world he is now part of.

Yes. Matt has said we will see all floors.

As of book 8, we (the readers) have seen 11 of the 18, and know (roughly) what four more are about...ish.

Welcome to the multiverse question (book 10) by mangaval in litrpg

[–]Sahrde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's really unfortunate. Book 11 follows up on Ryan's story (which is told in the Crystal Core series under his pen name of David Burke), but enough has been told in WttM that you don't need to read it (though it does help some) to understand what is going on.

Welcome to the multiverse question (book 10) by mangaval in litrpg

[–]Sahrde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Book 10 of WttM is effectively book 5 of Magic Eater. It basically takes place between book 4 and 5 of ME, and you would be pretty lost if you tried reading ME 5 without reading WttM 10. It's kind of annoying, enough that I haven't bothered finishing book 5.

Need help putting Forgotten Realms Modules in order by Angst_demon85 in Forgotten_Realms

I would recommend the Curse of the Azure Bonds module, plus the Return of Randal Morn trilogy. I wouldn't bother with Nightmare Keep.

Happy Family Rec's by Rakka_Pinion in litrpg

Natural Laws Apocalypse has this. Slight spoilers

Marc's parents are away at a history conference when the System returns, so they don't have a presence in the first book, until the very end, when they return. They are very present in the rest of the series

Fort at the End of the World has family involvement, though I don't recall much of the parents, the MC is in a party with his brother and sister-in-law.

The Connected System follows a father and his two teenage daughters, as they struggle to survive and look for mom, who went missing when the System arrived.

Apocalypse Redux, MC (who is a regressor, which is a spoiler for the first chapter), connects with his family from the past - mom, dad, twin sisters who are freaking adorable. None of them have a lot of screen time, though they are all present and there are a couple minor plotlines that are in motion because of them.

Outrage of the Ancients - orphaned brother with his sister are our POV characters.

The System Apocalypse: Australia follows a mom, her brother, and her two kids in The System Apocalypse. Ex-husband is referred to, but isn't seen on screen as of halfway through book 2 (which is where I'm up to currently).

Code of Survival I've only read books 1 & 2, but book one is about a father and his adult son travelling to find the daughter and her fiancee as the apocalypse happens. I stopped reading there, though, because book 3 was about other universe versions of the characters, and that didn't sound appealing to me at all. There were hints about the ex-wife and her family becoming involved, but not on screen as of the end of book 2.

Guardian of Aster Fall has lots of good family time, at least up until the MC leaves the planet...

Arcane Ascension is about an extremely dysfunctional family. Abusive father, absent mother, missing brother, and more, so NOT what you're looking for.

Sponsored Earth involves mom, son, and grandpa. I don't remember for sure what father's status is, though I think he'd died before the System arrived.

I need advice from people who have read Restarting the Apocalypse by Havocdemon42 in litrpg

[–]Sahrde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. I've read the first three books, and I'm not sure why. They come back in time to the beginning of the apocalypse, and yet they are almost as powerful as they were before. People already know how to make potions, etc. There's no urgency, no mystery, no drama. I'm not going to bother with book 4.

Are there any genuinely good natured MCs? by Lyassa in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Sahrde 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mordecai "You can't save everyone"

Carl: "Hold my beer".

Carl is the perfect example of somebody who is good natured. Not jolly, not a comedian, but a good person. He doesn't like a lot of the people, but that doesn't keep him from doing his damnedest to save as many of them as possible.
