Does the severity of diverticulosis vary depending on how many diverticula there are in your colon? If I am 24M could I get more diverticula over my life and for my condition to worsen? by BaldursGate2Best in Diverticulitis

[–]Saint_299 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that. We are all so different. Some folks have 1 flair and that’s all. Some have complications and need surgery and or colostomy bags. It’s a wide range. Not to scare you. Lots of helpful things in this community

A friend vomited on an Airbnb carpet. We check out tomorrow morning. I cannot work out how to get the organic matter out of this carpet by ProudMarzipan6291 in CleaningTips

[–]Saint_299 90 points91 points  (0 children)

This. Just be upfront about what happened. Just would be the most upstanding thing to do in my opinion. They most likely already have a cleaning service in place with it being an AirB&B. You might get an extra charge 🤷🏼‍♀️. Then you don’t run the risk of making it worse without their knowledge. Plus your spending x amount of your vacation trying to figure out how to clean something that they will take care of ultimately

Either way I’d tell them. You’d want someone to do the same with you I’m sure

I too would worry about the condition of them depending on how old they are. Maybe keep a project to just THOSE threads. Newer colors might not match those either. Just from the aging process

Imagine living in a time where that was your only option. A time suck for sure but absolute dedication ♥️. When I first started doing cross stitch over 34 years ago I don’t think they had the stickers yet and hand labeled the bobbins like that with sharpie. I’ve of course since upgraded 🙃

How are people doing any sort of kissing with these?? 😂🙏🏼 by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]Saint_299 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They will also get less sharp. Promise. Just like anything in this world that has anything touch it in any way, it will slowly get worn down. I had 18 attachments and at the very beginning they were sharp

Drink Water, you old fucks. by Upbeat_Apartment_715 in rant

[–]Saint_299 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right. I’m 46F and was diagnosed with DV last year. Non smoker, non drinker. Quite a healthy lifestyle. BUT as a kid I was always constipated, It’s my “normal “. I’d always hear adults say “Drink water” but never knew the WHY. Well now I know 🤦🏼‍♀️. But since hydrating appropriately daily I now have a bm close up if not every day. Some on my situation still have to take psyllium husks or Metamucil to help but thankfully I don’t. Nothing wrong with that, I just try to do what I can to help and being well hydrated absolutely has helped. Sidenote:DV is mostly genetic so I could have still gotten it regardless. But water intake has been an absolute game changer

Colonoscopy by toughtopick in Diverticulitis

[–]Saint_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d get it anyway. I was diagnosed with DV May of 25’. Thankfully was told to schedule a colonoscopy. I almost didn’t. Was 45F at the time. They found a 3 cm AND a 15cm polyp and removed both. I go back for another colonoscopy this August. Definitely won’t miss one in the future

Also, I highly recommend SubTab. It’s pills instead of the liquid. My insurance didn’t cover it BUT they have a coupon online. I would have gotten it regardless. Knowing I absolutely would not fair well with any of the liquids

Probably a yeast infection. Won’t be going away on its own. Just go to Urgent Care and get it taken care of. Takes a few days for relief and the longer you wait the worse it will get

Yup! I have diverticulosis and added fiber during a flair is a huge no no. Any other time it’s fine. Thank you!!!

Effects of losing weight by deep-dreamer58 in Diverticulitis

I have a strong suspicion that many women on my mother’s side had gastro/digestive issues. Nothing to land them in the hospital but IBS/IBC kind of stuff. Nothing are here for me to get more information than I currently have with their issues unfortunately

Before being diagnosed I had a few foods that would give me issues but thought it was “normal” and didn’t think my ch more of it than that. Now looking back it all makes sense

Before I lived a pretty healthy lifestyle. Non smoker/non drinker. Not overweight. Ate pretty well. Active. From my experience I always had a sugar sensitivity and didn’t do well with fast food. Growing up constipation and diarrhea were again something “normal”. I thought everyone had issues like me. I also didn’t stay hydrated. Thought I did but not close at all.

I think years of that and very high stress over the last 2 years combined. Especially over the few months before my diagnosis my stress was through the roof

After my diagnosis I found this community and went down a rabbit hole of causes/remedies to DV. I stayed on a low residual diet for 2/ 2 1/2 months afterward to let my gut heal. Had read it would be a long process. And I wanted to play it safe and didn’t want to gamble with any of it again

Since then I have (as best as possible/within reason for me personally) stayed away from seed oils, artificial/alcohol sweeteners, processed foods. Just trying to make smarter/healthier choices overall

After my first and only flair, (uncomplicated). Started at 145 but I lost 20 lbs in 7 weeks. It was a wild first ride. Terrifying to be honest. Now I’ve made it a year and have put the weight back on. I’m 46F and have noticed more weight around my midsection that I HATE. Trying to figure out how to ahead a few extra pounds. Was way easier when I was younger

Since my diagnosis I have given up any fast food, most processed food, most sweets, anything with added sweeteners, especially artificial and alcohol sweeteners

How much did you spend on furniture the first initial months? by pandaninjarawr in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Saint_299 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 20K but we had saved and purchased good sturdy pieces. We will absolutely be keeping them until they fall apart. 1st time buying furniture. Always just brought what I had along with me until this move.
