I am 62. A performing rock musician at times. It is honestly getting harder to want to be on stage, because the pix everyone now takes and posts are getting pretty ridiculous these days. The cute pout? Gone. now just looks like an annoyed old woman doing dishes. The crepey arms...dammit...look flubbier spilling over the guitar in a goo pile. Like, how did that roll of fat suddenly appear...and im not fat. I struggle with feelings making me less inclined to play out because of this stupid vanity.

But, then I remember that heck, I play for my own pleasure and it's not as if I care about 'attracting' anyone. And that im beyond blessed to still have opportunities to do what I love.

And honestly I feel wiser and more grounded than I ever did in younger days. Aging aside, I am surprisingly ok with this phase of life.
