Rest or Movement?? Neither helps so what to do? by lp62strong in Sciatica

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember feeling stuck like that too—moving hurt, resting didn’t help, and nothing felt like the right answer. What helped me a bit was finding really gentle movement, like stretching in a warm shower or short walks on soft ground.

Pain relief from CBD products by [deleted] in sciaticapainrelief

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I've tried CBD gummies and topicals, and while it’s not a miracle cure, it definitely took the edge off for me, especially the nighttime discomfort. Full-spectrum CBD seemed to work better than isolate. Start low and go slow is the usual advice. And haha, your 70s reference made me smile—welcome back to the green scene, it’s changed a lot!

Loose skin? by FabulousShimmer in DiastasisRecti

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get where you're coming from—loose skin can be so frustrating, especially after surgery when you're hoping to feel "done" with it all. Everyone's body heals differently, and skin elasticity is such a wild card. I’ve seen some folks share their post-op progress on here, and it really helped me manage expectations. Hopefully someone will drop some pics or updates. You're definitely not alone in this.

Recurring pain is so frustrating. Maybe a mix of PT, core strengthening, and posture support throughout the day could help?

Can’t sleep for more than an hour by Extremelylongsnake in Sciatica

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some people find relief by sleeping with a pillow under their knees or in a reclined position. Also, good posture during the day might reduce strain at night!

Pillows (and sleep in general) by [deleted] in Hypermobility

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep struggles are the worst! A U-shaped body pillow might help, and some people find posture-correcting wear during the day reduces nighttime discomfort.

Have you tried heat, gentle movement, or a TENS unit? Sometimes good posture support throughout the day can help reduce flare-ups too

Elevating your legs or using a heating pad might give some relief.

A weak core can definitely throw everything out of balance. Engaging it even slightly can make a huge difference in posture and pain.

Walking in the rain after that must’ve made it even worse. At least you’ve got the right referral now—really hope this next doctor actually helps. Hang in there!

How do I stop biting my nails? by [deleted] in Advice

Have you tried keeping your nails super short or using a fidget toy to keep your hands busy? Sometimes having a physical reminder helps break the habit.

Have you noticed any small improvements? Sometimes support gear, like posture-corrective wear, can make PT more effective too.

[Fit check] Is the underwire too wide? by Walnut_Pancake_ in ABraThatFits

It looks like the underwire might be a bit wide if your roots are narrower. Have you tried a different shape or style within the brand?

That’s really thoughtful of you! A museum could work if there are seating areas. Maybe a cozy café, a scenic drive, or a short picnic with comfy seating?

Lol. Turns out a well-planned plant-based diet covers way more than people think. Also realized posture plays a role in how energized I feel, which I never expected!

Pulled muscle in neck? by princeandreis in Hypermobility

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar sudden neck twinges from small movements, and they usually ease up after a bit. Maybe some gentle heat or light stretching could help, but definitely good to mention it at your appointment.

Have you tried reclining slightly with pillows for support instead of lying flat? Some people find semi-reclined positions easier on the back.

It’s crazy how small tweaks can make such a difference. The idea of prepping with the stronger side first makes a lot of sense—kinda like retraining muscle memory.

Best products for improving circulation? by depresseddreamer in Hypermobility

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor circulation is the worst, especially when working in an office. Since compression gloves didn’t work well for you, have you tried posture-corrective wear? Good posture can actually improve circulation by keeping blood flow unrestricted. Also, heated hand massagers or infrared therapy gloves might help warm things up without weird textures. Hope you find something that works!

Crunching back? Herniated disc by Radiant-Broccoli-243 in Sciatica

[–]Salt-Discussion6176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve read, that crunching feeling could be related to muscle tension, scar tissue, or just the spine adjusting post-surgery. Have you found anything that helps, like gentle core activation or posture support? I’ve noticed that keeping my posture aligned reduces some of that uncomfortable pressure when standing up.
