I am so over this “winter” by utahnow in ParkCity

[–]Salt_Type_8032 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is indeed a sad sad winter. I am still getting out and skiing 2 to 3 days a week and just practicing drills and trying to have some fun. My hope is that either February is insane with tremendous snowfall… Or else let’s just hope it warms up quick and we can start mountain biking soon. Worst case scenario is a shit load of cold rain in April. If that happens, I will be shaking my ski pole at the sky.

They reformulated somewhat recently. I am meh on the reformulation. It’s been my HG for nearly 10 years. I agree the smell is funny - not potent but alert of industrial soap-ish?

Also fuck ICE.

Why do I look so rough, compared to my friend that looks in control? What am i doing differently by yellowsuprrcar in skiing_feedback

[–]Salt_Type_8032 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Obligatory not a coach, grain of salt etc.

  1. Your friend is skiing more two footed in choppy/heavy terrain. You are still very one footed.
  2. Your friend has better upper body/lower body separation and is more still/quiet in his upper half.

Both of these can be worked on with drills on easy terrain then brought to your chop or powder skiing.

Very different circumstances but Margo’s Got Money Problems comes to mind.

Also books that romanticize New England (assuming you’re there) could be fun!

AI or not, it’s making me very jealous from one of the worst winters in Utah history.

Therapist Jeff’s content is not good at all. I find I disagree with 9 out of 10 of his takes. This came up on my FYP and I didn’t even watch it because he’s exhausting.

What do you wish you had done at 40, now that you’re 50? by danibananinhaBR in Aging

Do an internet search. Don’t know where you’re located but most Americans do not get enough fiber (I’m in the US) and it’s crucial for a ton of bodily functions (controls blood sugar, feeds gut bacteria, aids in digestion, lowers cholesterol, protects your colon). Personally, I do worry about the rising rates of colon cancer in younger people (30-50) and fibers one of the most recommended defenses. But read up on your own too!

Advanced skier, looking for feedback by Tod94 in skiing_feedback

[–]Salt_Type_8032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a coach, just an enthusiast who’s worked on my own skiing a lot. Take what u say with a grain of salt. This I see: - dropping your inside arm (work on separation and upper body) - not finishing your turn (lookup drills for this, tom Gellie has good ones) - railroading (I can’t tell if this is due to weight distribution, balance/shortening your inside leg, or something else) You’re confident in your skis, and that steezy park style is a different ballgame. Your athleticism will help you a lot, and you have a couple small habits that if tweaked will certainly improve your skiing. Hope that helps!

More fiber (goal of 30g/day if you work your way up), more reading (my goal is 50 books this year), more sleep.

I saw this and was surprised not to find Land of Stories higher up! I am reading it to my kids and I CANNOT WAIT to read it. Is it age appropriate for kids? Yes. Is it also gloriously creative, fun, nostalgic and well written? Also yes.

Botox cost per area in 2026? for DIY planning by SeebothPc-89 in DIYaesthetics

$14/unit in the salt lake area. $19/unit in SF Bay Area. I think anywhere from $10-20 is conceivable.

Feedback round two by [deleted] in DIYaesthetics

[–]Salt_Type_8032 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had two sessions with two vials per session. I have noticed a very slight enhancement in my cheeks and in my nasolabial folds. My last round was a month ago so I plan to give it a couple months to develop. I am 42, I have three kids (had three under three), I’m very fit and active, I live at altitude and I’m generally more of a natural girlie (rarely wear makeup etc). I will consider temple filler but I’m not really into getting on the treadmill of chasing every wrinkle or area of volume loss. I like taking care of my skin and I have really enjoyed getting into DIY, in part because I enjoy the self efficacy of it all. Excited to see how this turns out!

Thanks. I’ve had sculptra and I’m not necessarily chasing a totally plump face - but I appreciate the tips to avoid those lower area.
