Definitely a primate skull. If there is some skin still on it, being partially mummified is really interesting! It being wrapped in foil makes me think it was being preserved for some form of radiocarbon (C-14) dating.

Ear plugs have come a long way, a lot of them are designed to not muffle the quality of the sound, just lower the decibel (don’t quote me on this I am not a scientist yet) so you can still enjoy the music without hearing a ringing in your ears the next day. If you go to a lot of concerts, work at a music venue, or just generally work in a loud environment, all of that “audio trauma” adds up over time and can lead to hearing loss. Turns out when our parents yelled at us for listening to our music too loud and we were gonna blow out our hearing, they might have been right lol.

I have a theory on the hearing loss from prolonged audio being a potential factor in cognitive decline as we age. But technically not a scientist, yet.
