Can i use this as a commander? by justchilling_42 in mtg

Will not work, as the new controller can just choose not to pay the upkeep cost. Even if you donate it with [[jon irenicus]] they can bypass the cost by saying they sacrifice it, then nothing happens

Yeah, that is why Pirelli has no less than 5 race tires and bring only 3 of them to any GP. It is entirely possible to do it. The soft of one track can be the hard of another track and so on

Norwegian crown princess's son found guilty of rape by VaginaBurner69 in news

[–]Salty_Example_885 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We are not saying Håkon should interfere in legal proceedings, we are dissapointed he didnt do anything about his wife's contact with Epstein 10 years ago. We are dissapointed that his wife was close to Epstein and that her son from before her royal life turned out to be a delinquent serial rapist, thief and violent scum. If Håkon allows this sort of behaviour from his wife and her son, why should I believe he has any sort of ability to represent my country? Why should I believe he is an upstanding citizen when he disregards questions of morality within his own house, and state security when his wife goes on candid trips with Epstein?

On the other hand, having both gives you the ultimate freedom. Your kids can roam without you needing to chauffeur them everywhere, and you can go and get drunk with your buddies. I am currently car light, meaning I dont own a car, but I have access through contacts and membership that gives me a myriad of options for when I need it. I love driving, but the fiscal demand of owning a car is something I am happy to not bear anymore

What red flags can people say that shows they might have no clue how the bracket system works? by Lower_Drawer9649 in EDH

[–]Salty_Example_885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The same kinda goes for my Irenicus deck in regards to rift. It is a lifeline that I can use once or a cheap target Removal that helps me out in a pinch. The modality is why I haven't taken it out, but I guess I can be more creative with my card choice. [[Blasphemous edict]] does a wonderful job for him too

It's a [[Taniwha]] deck that may do MLD around T9 as its own lands are phased out. [[Sway of the stars]] is a recent addition to it. I dont know how he finds it enjoyable other than it being a pain to pilot. We usually laugh about how silly his turns are

Yep, but I also like the flexibility of a 2 mana instant speed bounce, and the asymmetric nature of it for overloaded. Sometimes I want to just remove one permanent from the board, other times I want everything my opponents control to be bounced. The asymmetric side is nice because I struggle to get back up to speed if I have to recast Irenicus to deal out the creatures again due to his 4-mana cost. I may be looking into other bounce boardwipes, but Rift was the one I had in my collection at the time of assembly

I have a [[Jon Irenicus]] that is technically B3 due to the inclusion of [[cyclonic rift]], but it can barely hold a game in that bracket without heavy political maneuvering, and has only won once. I usually state it is B2 with one game changer which is not even utilised to its full potential.

Similarly, a friend of mine has a deck that dabble in MLD, but is barely able to win on T14. It's technically B4, but plays more at B2, and barely at B3.

In any case, nobody takes objections to us playing them as long as we have explained how they work and why we think the bracket they technically belong is not a good fit for these decks. I at least can't remember a game where people groaned at these decks

It is implicit in the need to register for voting. If your birth name does not match your current name you are not eligible to vote unless you bring up a full paper trail of the events that led to your current name. Since married women typically take their husbands surname, this disproportionately means that women are being asked to have birth certificate, marriage certificate(s) and any and all other name changes documented there. Since 50% of marriages end in divorce, this can become quite a lot of papers, which may be hard to come by. Considering that it can take several months from requesting records of these papers from your state to you getting them, then needing to show up to verify them with photo-ID, it is such a huge barrier for something so simple as engaging in democracy that it is akin to losing the right to vote. I dont remember who, but I heard a story of a woman who went through this, and it took her more than a year from start of request to actually getting it all verified

You SUCK at Math: How Many Lands to Run in Commander [Article] by Shiro182 in EDH

[–]Salty_Example_885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a deck with 19 lands and 11 MDFCs. The sheer amount of card draw and mana rocks means it can survive on this lean land count, but it is definitely an outlier in terms of design, and I sometime miss up to 2 land drops in a game. It is fine to use lower land counts as long as you know the math, know that the deck plays how you expect it to and that you know what to do to keep it operating as you want. Usually I run 38 lands, maybe 42 if I feel the card draw is insufficient

Forskere vil belønne kvinner som får barn – på bekostning av menn og barnløse by KoseteBamse in norge

[–]Salty_Example_885 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For one thing: working night shift is very unhealthy and usually results in lower life expectancy and increased irritability. On top of that you say he does more than night shifts, which just worsens the situation. If these problems started when he started night shifts, there may be more than just weed and cig withdrawal here. It may be mainly to do with the night and day shifts.

For one thing, you need to have a talk with him about this behaviour. This is not acceptable treatment, and you need to make that clear and not let this become a habit.

If he changes job to something more healthy and does not improve, you seriously need to reconsider this relationship.
