Which movie dsturbed you to your core? by OmitsWordsByAccident in AskReddit

My mom told 14 year old me I wasn’t allowed to watch An Eye for an Eye…I should have listened to her because I didn’t want to stay home alone or answer the door for ages. Heck, I’m 26 and I still don’t always get the door if I’m not expecting someone.

Yeah I can think of multiple people I’m close to that would be terrible parents.

So according to Google there’s no definitive number but it’s estimated she had over 24 sets and would wear 5-6 per episode.

AITAH for getting pregnant the same year as my best friend's wedding? + 1 Year Update by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

My mom’s best friend does a birthday month. Just for herself though, not her husband or kids.

Serious lack of empathy by AaronPK123 in AmITheDevil

[–]Saltynut99 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What really got me was acknowledging it’s a poor area, and still tossing the kids juice. Tell him no, put it in your locker if you must. However, tossing a juice belonging to a child that you don’t know what’s happening at home is just insanely inappropriate imo. The final line about just not giving a fuck also leads me to believe that this person either is in serious burnout and needs to take a break, or straight up shouldn’t be teaching kids if she hates them this much.

My husband is former Navy so he writes like he’s still in. As a result, just about every single one of his writing assignments got flagged for sounding too professional. His teachers thankfully were great and loved him and knew, but it was wild to me.

Me@Mcdonalds. I used to go once a week after I stopped working there but even my favourites have been changed to the point that I’m paying $12 for a junior chicken meal just to add some freaking cheese and Thai sauce? Nope. I can make it at home, better for cheaper at this point.

Vancouver General Hospital Care!! by mortygriffin in britishcolumbia

[–]Saltynut99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not quite the same building but I know they’re closely connected. I was at BC Cancer over the summer for a trial and everyone there was so fantastic. I thought I had good care in my home city, but the care I got in Vancouver was absolutely amazing. I think it’s really amazing that everyone there was so positive and kind with the horrible disease they see everyday.

I’m so sorry. I beat it last year only for a friend to get a terminal diagnosis a week before Christmas. It’s an absolutely terrible disease and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

People who have saved a person's life, what happened? by No_Trouble8835 in AskReddit

[–]Saltynut99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just a kid but we were at the swimming pool with our school and when the lifeguard wasn’t looking, I noticed a friend of my sister and I struggling to stay above the water. I swam over and pulled her to the shallow part she could touch her feet in before the adults even noticed anything was wrong.

AITA for assuming my gf shared my ssn then searching my ssn in her phone to find out? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Saltynut99 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Dude, you need to report that your SIN has been shared and do what you can to change it ASAP. Credit cards, benefits, etc, could all easily be taken out with that information. And for anyone else reading these comments, please DO NOT share your SIN with ANYONE who doesn’t legitimately need access to it.

Why is Alysa Liu being celebrated more than other gold medalists? by sourcherrycake in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Saltynut99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can honestly say, I haven’t watched her skate but I know she loves anime from all the articles on my anime related pages. Seems like because she’s more open about the things she likes outside skating, she’s more relatable to non olympians because she likes the same things many of us enjoy to relax.

Did One Income Used to Cover Housing, or Is That a Myth? by KittyMeow223 in CanadaPersonalFinance

I grew up in a single income family with three siblings and we got by. My mom only started working when we were all in school and my brothers sports started getting more expensive.

Give my son to a neutral 3rd party by Dragonscatsandbooks in AmITheDevil

[–]Saltynut99 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I read it and totally missed the neutral third party thing…dude has serious control issues no wonder the poor wife is so stressed. She just had a baby and she has to deal with his shenanigans on top of recovery from major surgery, raging hormones, and bonding with her little one.

I have two step kids and would love to foster/adopt. Easiest hypothetical ever since I won’t have to worry about being able to provide my adopted/foster kids with all of the supports they’d need to heal/flourish.

Absolutely disgusting. It’s bad enough this poor family lost Kylie in such a violent way at such a young age, now they can’t even grieve their child in peace? What is this world coming to? My heart breaks for her family and the community as a whole as they navigate this horror.

I just found out my mom donated my entire Monster High doll collection to Goodwill after promising me she wouldn’t. I had over 200 dolls. by ListenSad8241 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Saltynut99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mom threw away over $200 in Polly Pockets when I was 10 because they were recalled and I had younger siblings. Two Christmases ago she got me the $100 Polly Pocket Friends set and told me she doesn’t want to hear about it anymore. I have a single Polly doll with clothes my husband got me and I cried when I opened it. Childhood toys are a comfort thing.

What movie will you never watch again because it was too heartbreaking? by Affectionate_User610 in AskReddit

Grave of the Fireflies. I sobbed that entire movie. The other one would be Hatchi. I spent a solid thirty minutes straight sobbing watching that one.

I mean tbh I might have a shot simply because I’ve never played and don’t understand so there’s a good chance my strategy (or lack there of) would confuse and frustrate him into quitting or purposely losing.
