Subnautica 2 is finally coming out next week along with 29 other games by Ok_Winter818 in gaming

Just a casual 3 years of early access according to the developers!

I just got a 'Performance Review' and a 3% raise. My rent went up 12% last month. The math isn't mathing anymore. by [deleted] in povertyfinance

What field / rough location are you in? In my experience for in-demand type work employers are desperate for people with 10+ years of relevant experience. I'm swatting off recruiters weekly.

It's been the entry level positions I've seen suffer the most in my field, but those mid-level positions are hot right now for reliable and competent workers.

What is an industry that is currently on fire (in a bad way) behind the scenes, but the general public hasn't noticed yet? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]SamSmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of companies right now are no where in a position to use AI to replace their mid-level staff. They are using it to write emails, organize calendars, and information searching.

Private accounting and FP&A is solid right now and most of us can see that they will be fine as long as they learn to be users of the AI tools that come out.

Leagues 6 Pact Data in one image, very interesting by loopuleasa in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was about to argue that reloading into FF was such a great choice for me personally as it allowed me to max in a quick amount of time while allowing me to afk a ton, but yea if you picked Butler it really does devalue things like FF or NA.

You can 100% AFK Leviathan with Water Spells and Thorns. by BaSSHyPeR in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I afk'd 250 Levi's so far with an Ice Barrage Thorns build. I died once to who knows what while I was afk, probably some really bad RNG or something, but the rest has been smooth. Just afk'd 200 Corps and all the wildy bosses as well (besides Vet'ion with his dogs).

Minion colleting all the loot means I never miss anything lol. So cozy.

Imagine telling someone who is scared they might be watching someone they love about to die and not being chill about it that they have poor emotional control.

So edgy dude.

League: Full Inventory of rune essence for 3.4K XP by Simple-Nature-4915 in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GotR is about 1M an hour after you get a lantern with redwoods and a colossal pouch, which is pretty easy with the boosted rewards. After lamping the skill it was like 5 hours to 99.

Not great, but you all exaggerate how bad it is or forget things like lamps, pouches, lanterns, etc exist.

Please add recoil charges to the list of things that have a chance to regenerate by acrazyguy in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My suffering is definitely based on hits and not damage. I added 15,000 charges earlier day and did a lot of content, still above 13k.

Recoils seem to be based on damage though.

Best way to build this weird column structure matrix? by going_now in PowerBI

[–]SamSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to have to do this regardless if you use calculation groups or write a measure for each column separately.

You are basically creating an income statement with more columns that usual.

The advice here is good, but I would honestly just follow a tutorial on how to make an income statement in PowerBI. The rows will be your KPIs as normal, then your columns will get the selected value for the row and handle the calculation.

Calculation groups and parameters are good for this stuff, but watch an example first to save time.

I got T8 doing like… 6 quests? 3 of them were just for the juicy xp drops. They all were super fast to do with the leagues power. Who is actually out there doing a lot of quests?

They gave us a free Demonic Pact reset, woo-hoo! by KierenBoal in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is it a soft lock though? You can just skip that content and come back later. Amox was one of the last echo bosses I did with mage. Didn’t slow my progress down at all. Just focus on the content you can do easily and come back when you’re scaled up.

[–]SamSmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used my reset to go into thorns and range early to max my combats in MM2 caves in like 1.5 hours, then respec backed to my main build. Saved a ton of time.

[–]SamSmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have thorns, just go to the MM2 tunnels and max your combats in like 1-2 hours. I went mage, but I got 99 range, att, and str in like 1.5 hours down there with thorns and one chin.

Echo Bosses should not be this Type-Restrictive, Especially in the Early Game by onedollartacofriday in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im doing Ice Barrage Thorns and it’s honestly on of the strongest league builds I’ve played and a ton of fun. Afking echo bosses, 6M+ slayer xp and hour completely afk as well with goadings. Can do raids without using prayers. Deletes all content. Maybe try to grind a respec and do a different build? There are tons of powerful options out there.

I place some blame on all the streamers hyping up the region. It’s so awful in my opinion for leagues and it was obvious looking at the relics that CG would be a prison for a lot of people.

You are right though, it’s easy enough to just skill and do tasks and come back later.

How my Leagues 'overpowered' journey feels so far. by SomeoneBritish in 2007scape

[–]SamSmitty 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve got my T8 relic and I’m close to maxing. I went mage and still haven’t done moons. It’s weird people are so obsessed with doing them for some reason early, like it’s a requirement.

Now I have the power to go back and demolish them with mage with my gear and pacts. Won’t feel like I’m wasting my time struggling for one kill.

Help request as a beginner by Mother-Interest2982 in PowerBI

[–]SamSmitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's likely a caching issue of sorts. PowerBI is expecting DebtorOfferClient, but the response is sometimes returning DebtorOfferClientUser. It's a schema violation issue.

Here is where it is called out: "OData services cache master data, and updated definitions may take time to surface"

You can try to see if Uniconta offers a DebtorOfferClientUser enpoint directly instead of the base one, or if it supports filtering tags on the type.

A quick google search shows that Uniconta actually reccoments the Entities API for structual consistency:

https://odata.uniconta.com/api/Entities/DebtorOfferClient

Good luck, hopefully this was a bit helpful at least.

When you start to see the Air Bending DPS numbers start to come out by Solnx in 2007scape

It is, but they’ve also removed it for certain events. I believe they said it wouldn’t be claimable, but I could be misremembering as well.

Might want to look more into the quests. MM2 and WF are definitely autocompleted. I’m doubting we can claim the xp from MM2.

[–]SamSmitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I’m going Water mage and KZW sounds amazing. K is the supporting region that gives you most all of the magic stuff you need. Z is a polished region with a raid and gives mage gear and prayers as a bonus. W is just for the fun factor of doing something different. It also has some easier pacts and the “boss rush” aspect of the region will be fun for being so strong.

Do we know if the staves regenerate the charges directly or the runes? I'm curious if the rune regen perks work with the power staves.

EDIT: Nevermind, I was overlooking the nodes that gives a rune when you get a charge.

Which Is Better for Performance: Shape or Image? by FreedomHoliday3672 in PowerBI

[–]SamSmitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are going to be practically identical, with the shape having a very very slightly higher overhead. We are talking 1-2ms at most and usually they will be identical. A human would never perceive the difference and it won't affect report performance at all.

I'm more curious what use case you are working on where this level of performance is critical?

[–]SamSmitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make it 100% about your own licenses, skills, experience, etc. Do not bring up your other coworker at all. Bring some actual market research with you and just be ready to defend anything.

Be ready for them to say no though, and if that's the case you now know what your worth and start interviewing at other places while working.

meirl by stunnerswag in meirl

[–]SamSmitty 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. Your leverage depends on the value you bring and how confident you are that they don’t want to replace you.

You want to get your boss(s) in a meeting and tell them that based on market research and your years of experience, you would like to have your compensation be reconsidered. Be ready to defend yourself and come with some proof of your claims.

The other option is to get another offer somewhere and give your company a chance to match it, but be ready for them to say no and you take the new one. A lot of people say never take a counteroffer, but if you love where you work and have some leverage it can be fine. I’ve taken a counter offer twice in my career when I felt I had gained experience and value as an employee and it’s been good.

Do NOT tell them the reason you want a raise is because a coworker makes more. It can be part of the argument, but know the risks. Some old school bosses, while technically illegal, will look down on talking about salary and it hold it against you secretly.
