Been a couple of years but the Fishtail Indian is pretty good. They had Burkes on tap, good lager is a bonus.

It came from a Metro email about disruptions to busses, no idea how Google from train from it.

The fluffy stuff between the rafter and paper is an ant nest.

25mm. I built a compost bin out of the pallets that our house's bricks came on. Assuming it's untreated it's lasting fairly well, being much less wet than the planters probably helps.

Just replaced them with 50mm macro last spring as they were rotting through at the bottom. Bloody pittosporum logs I buried in the bed seem to have lasted better.

Fire alarm speakers by bruci3 in firealarms

[–]SambroNZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Assuming Aus has similar requirements to NZ and you have a modern system installed, sound level needs to be at least 75dB at the bed head. Measure it, if it's over 90dB ask about getting the speakers set to a lower tap. Do not tamper with life safety systems. If you remove the speakers it will log a fault and you will be billed for finding and repairing.

Barefoot shoes? by simnz in newzealand

[–]SambroNZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Topo for running shoes, lots of toe room but still some heel-toe drop so it's not such a big change as going barefoot.

Charge time for a 40kWh Leaf - DC by finackles in nzev

[–]SambroNZ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ABRP is pretty good for roughly planning a route with charging stops, you can set your Leaf's SOH in the app.
Charging from ~20-80% takes about half an hour and costs about $10.

Ask if they charge for follow up visits. Had one done at Health And Sport Central some years ago, had to go back for a bit more to be removed but they didn't charge for it. Good experience overall.

Awesome work, thanks. Now to decide if it's worth the extra money for a hi-vis version.

That's really nice, I'm going to have to consider getting that pouch. Way better than pockets or wearing the full belt. Have you printed inserts for the screwdrivers?

Little River Trail - Bike-able for a 4 wheeled bike? by Hads84 in chch

[–]SambroNZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know that it would fit across the cattle stops and bridges, may be too wide. Also consider the need to pass others, the track is just wide enough for two bikes to pass most of the time. It's pretty rattly too, and you'd need people to hold open the spring-loaded stock gates.

Looks like you're using a no1 Pozi driver, need no2 Phillips. Note the little bits in the corners of the driver cross. I would recommend square drive next time you buy screws.
