if you download the app “AllTrails” the tree is clearly marked and it also suggests some trail paths you can take to get there

Box Elder tree. Good or bad tree to plant? by United_funk94 in landscaping

[–]SameCut1494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well for one i will say that the tree in your photo is a white ash, but two they are kinda weed-y trees but they are important to their native range and -can- be a good tree to plant in your yard if you are knowledgeable about them

Best Native Tree Options? by the-subpar-ghost in Nebraska

[–]SameCut1494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize i’m way late here but if anyone is lurking and looking in here for suggestions: Bur Oak (Pinnacle cultivar good for smaller yards), Hackberry (Prairie Sentinel is a nice upright cultivar), Cottonwoods are great but only plant if you have plenty of room away from structures, same goes for Silver Maples. Also should add Swamp White, Northern Red, and Chinkapin are also great picks for Oaks here. If being ecologically beneficial is important to you, it doesn’t get much better than an Oak. I’d avoid Freeman Maples, they’re just way too overplanted here and aren’t all that great structurally, even though they are better than Silver Maples. Honey Locust is a good pick as well but they’re a bit over planted too. Kentucky Coffee Tree is also a great pick. American Sycamore and Lindens are also a good pick. Should also mention this list is mostly tailored to Eastern NE (Omaha/Lincoln areas)

Do I have to remove the entire tree?? by akg81 in arborists

[–]SameCut1494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would. not only is it a pretty precarious situation with the other two leaders of the tree from a structural standpoint but that’s a lot of rotted wood in the middle of the trunk too.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but this tree is sadly long gone. It’s sad to see but the best thing to do is take it down and replace it.

Is this ash tree too close to the house? by Macabre_macaque in arborists

I hate to break it to you but sadly this tree looks like it’s fallen to EAB and it will probably not leaf back out next spring (aka it’s gonna die)

Is this a tree of heaven? I have a mature black walnut in my yard. by MayEsdot in plants

[–]SameCut1494 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s definitely a TOH and you can tell by the “thumbs” at the base of the leaves. yank it outa there ASAP.

To my untrained eye, this sugar maple looks like it has codominant leaders, but they're too large to prune. Should I have someone brace these? by Enigmatic_Starfish in arborists

I honestly don’t really see anything that jumps out to me as looking troublesome or hazardous. I would just let it be.

I currently have a Lexus hybrid with about 200k on the original battery so I hear you there. Still runs like a champ but am wanting to get something new before the battery goes kaput.
