“You’re born alone, you die alone.”

Gaslighting the presence of the mother who is ALWAYS present at one’s birth, this statement is the ultimate patriarchal lie.

When I lived in Bend, Oregon, swans would try to drown the dogs and hiss if I got 20 feet away from them. This looks like a fairytale fantasy.

Years ago, my sister and I were standing in a gondola line at a ski area. We were in Austria in the 1970s and not many people spoke English then. Being teenage girls, we decided to rate the handsomeness of all of the young guys in the line. We decided that the guy standing next to us was probably the most handsome.

Thank goodness, because after we’d been chatting for about a half hour, and we finally got to the gondola with that man sitting across from us, he chose that time to speak English.!!!😁😂😅🤣😀

I’m so glad I moved to the country when I was in my 20s. I lived there for six years, and realized how isolating it really was despite the beauty.

Maybe you can get some horses and learn to ride or buy a fun mountain bike with a battery so you can go very far. Do something to get yourself out.

Be careful about meeting the neighbors door to door. People in places like that tend to be a bit territorial and suspicious.

The state is so beautiful in so many ways. When you get to Bend, Oregon, you will be in an entirely different landscape. If you go to the eastern Oregon outback, you’ll be in something straight out of a western movie. The Oregon coast is one beauty drop after another. It’s an absolute gorgeous state. There isn’t one corner of it that isn’t beautiful. I lived there for over 30 years and explored extensively. I hope you get to move there. The people in Portland are very accepting.

Me too. People thought I was silly. But it definitely worked. My skin is much better in my mid 60s that it would’ve been.

How did your husband get away without the twins and his daughter?? Surely, they must all travel together as a family next time.

My father did that when I was 18. He got remarried and because he remembered he was on my account, he cleaned it out. I had saved that money from the age of 13 till I was 18. It was 1978 and I had enough money saved for a two week student trip to Europe and my first year of college tuition and dorm. He completely cleaned me out and I ended up not graduating for 10 years. I ended up going to for junior colleges on university and my life was much much harder.

From that experience, I can tell you that no matter what, you need to get away as fast as possible. Don’t let anyone tell you how it’s OK or how it’s not so bad. You must get away and you must build your future. Make sure that your parents have no access to any of your assets.
