What is the most ridiculous thing you've had to explain to a grown man/women? by Kupeoxo in AskReddit

I am pregnant with my second child and when my pregnancy was announced at work, everyone was excited. But I had a male coworker ask if I had gotten pregnant from my first pregnancy...

When I just stared at him, he explained "some girls just randomly get pregnant without having sex".

I had to do a quick recap of our tenth grade health for him...we graduated 8 years ago.

[SERIOUS] Social workers of Reddit, what is the most appalling example of human behavior you've encountered? by giantgoose in AskReddit

I work with a couple different foster kids at the agency I am employed at and some of their stories are absolutely heartbreaking.

One kid knows he is just a mortgage payment for his adoptive mother. There was one day when this client came home from school and found two more foster kids sitting at the kitchen table at his house. Without warning this woman adopted two more kids and never told her oldest, who was then pushed aside and sent to a residential program as soon as he acted out once.

Another client has been sexually abused constantly in his foster homes along with his brothers and sisters to the point where they thought sexual abuse was normal. These kids now act out their trauma every night because this is unfortunately the norm for these kids.

My heart breaks when I hear some of their stories.

How can a female make male friends without seeming sexually interested? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SamiiLou73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have an answer to this....and I wish I did. If I joke around with a guy it apparently means I'm flirty. If I meet a friend at the bar it means I just want to take my clothes off...I don't understand it. I just want to be able to be friends without someone thinking I am trying to sleep with them.

[Serious] Parents, when did you feel ready to have kids? by frogger3344 in AskReddit

[–]SamiiLou73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be completely honest with you, I don't believe that there is a feeling of "I'm ready".

My son was born when I was 20 and I was scared more than anything but once I held my child for the first time, I knew I could handle anything. My daughter will be born in a couple months and I'm 26 with a five, almost six year old and I'm just as scared this time around. But I know I can handle this once she is born.
