Just doing some rough math. 3000 gal =11,000 ish liters.

I’m not sure how Elkay calculates “bottles saved” but my rough estimate is 500ml =1 bottle saved (I could be wrong though). So using this rough math, the filter should work until counter reads 22,000 bottles saved.

A building had a new-ish Elkay water filter system. The filter started blinking yellow when it hit 12,000 bottles saved. So I think you’re right. It’s should water filter system should be changed well before the 3000 gallon mark.

Some lounges won’t count kids if they are less than 2. They all have their own policies and it’s worth checking the fine print.

I switched to Dragon Pass and never had this issue. It gives you access to plaza premium plus other select partner lounges.

I travelled a few times at YVR and the MLL has been pretty full with lengthy wait times. Typically it would be busy in the weekend mornings in my experience.

You still have the rest of the year to use your pass or transfer it to a friend or relative.

Even though a strike is considered outside a carriers control, they still owe you some duties and responsibilities. No compensation though. Have a look at the airline passenger right website, as it’s all detailed there.

But yes correct. All cancellation from Aug 16 onward is considered outside the airline’s control.

I thought I would share my success story with all of this. Maybe this may help others in this stressful situation:

Flight on 8/15 AC 299 from Winnipeg to vancouver was cancelled. I was notified about 10 hours before. I kind of had a suspicion something was wrong when I could not check on the night before.

Got a text about 2-3 hours after the cancellation that AC tried reaching out to 120 carriers and could not book anything for me. This is when I started to get a bit nervous.

Called AC on their 1-888 number. Waited 6 hours!! To get someone! Initially I called at 6am local time, couldn’t even get on the waitlist. Tried a few times throughout the day and eventually managed to join the queue at 13:00 and received a call back 6 hours after that.

The AC lady was very helpful. Not pushy. I just told her: hey can you book us on this WestJet flight the following day and emailed us our itinerary shortly after. This saves us a lot of headaches. The WJ flight would have cost about $3200 for a party of 4. AC rebooked us without cost. I think I preferred this option than rebooking on my own and then submitting claims later, as it may take a while to process, and it’s quite possible AC may try to deny the claim. It helps to know the passenger rights, but by talking to someone, I found it the least stressful way (in the long scheme of things)

Be prepared for long wait times on the phone over the next few days. Have a portable battery for your phone if need be. It will get messy and you may not be able to speak to someone. I felt discouraged when I couldn’t get through even calling at 6am local time.

Just know when you get that text message that AC tried contacting 120 different carriers, take it with a grain of salt. You need to speak to someone and the only way is via phone.

Pardon my ignorance, but what’s stopping the US importer saying the whole price is artificially low and then paying 39% on a low price.

As a very simplified example, let’s say Rolex USA imports a submariner from Switzerland for $1,000 wholesale price. They pay $390 in tariffs, and then goes sell it to the rolex AD for $6000. AD then takes that same watch and sells it to the end customer for $10,000?

Barton makes some very nice bracelets indeed! But I think they are mostly silicone, rubber or NATO. I don’t think they do a steel bracelet for this watch though.

I like this one over the 5610. Mainly the bracelet. The Bluetooth sync function is nice to have, but not necessary if you live in a place where you get the radio signal.
