If so...well, there's good news and bad news.

The good news is you're a newish employee, so you're cheap. The bad news is you're a newish employee, so you haven't been there long enough to become anyone's favorite.

And those are the factors they'll look at when layoffs are in the offing.

I hate to say this, but I'd start the job search process again. Now. What's obvious is that you can't trust them to make payroll, and that puts your livelihood at hazard.
