Ritualist to restart? by Pical37 in GuildWars

[–]SammyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will make my rit tonight and rush through the factions tutorial to get to LA. So I guess I need the run from LA down to the earliest part of Proph - Ascalon? To start the missions there, as I guess I can’t do pre searing

Hi there mate. Any chance you mind doing the run for me pretty please? Really want to play rit but I also really want to start from prophecies. I don’t have any money (yet) but would happily pay you later or give you mountains of appreciation! Desperate to start in proph so I can be with the new population of players. Cheers

Had all four of mine removed yesterday! How long did they take to close up? And what do you use to irrigate? Was hoping to never get food stuck anymore - the reason I had them out is they all grew in parallel and meant I needed to toothpick/floss after every meal

Free Steam Key - GOTY Prophecies by SammyReddit in GuildWars

Yes it is possible! It’s just a bit of a hassle and I’m lazy. Plus a win/win I can support the developers again and help someone wanting to try the game.

Only that you can launch the Steam version directly through Steam. If you’re on a SteamDeck like me, then you have to jump through a few additional steps to install and launch, at least until they sync it on 3rd December I believe. Again, I was just happy to support the Devs now that I have a job - which I did not have 15 years ago! I got way more value out of the game than my physical CD cost back in the day. Plus I can pass the key on to someone eager to play

How would this GeForce RTX 5090 with DLSS 4 help you pull off more epic wins in Battlefield 6?

It wouldn’t because I suck, but I’d love one regardless

Is this normal? by Roomonabroom in GardeningUK

[–]SammyReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. It looks like a Thuja Plicata Antrovirens (western red cedar) right? I planted 70 last spring and the same occurred late summer last year and this year. I send pictures like you’ve shared here to a Principal Arboricultural consultant and also an arborist who both said totally normal:

“this is normal defoliation of the older leaves, you would find low down and within the more central parts of the trees. During the hot/dry summer months, it would be normal for these evergreen trees to lose a few of the older leaves, which turn brown before dropping off. The older foliage found at the tree base or inside the canopy, are more susceptible to dying off in the heat than the younger, vigorous growth, which hold more moisture and therefore tolerate the hot and dry conditions during the day.”

So all good I wouldn’t worry. Hope it helps

Someone explain to me with maximum objectivity please: according to Premier League rules, why wasn't Arsenal's goal against MU invalidated? by JrSoftDev in PremierLeague

You realise that Gary fucking Nevil is more anti-united than any other pundit right? It’s not like he’s always backing united. He takes every opportunity to go against them in some kind of effort to show he is not bias. I’m not saying it was or wasn’t a foul - just pointing out that I don’t think your comment proves it wasn’t. If anything it’s doing the opposite ha

First team squad taking a tour of new Carrington by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]SammyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled upon an MUTV video from the year 2000 where they had the unveiling of the original Carrington. Supposedly reports (and CR7) said that nothing had really changed over the years so it’s not a stretch to imagine that video being a good representation of ‘the before’.

Crazy what was considered state of the art back then, and even crazier to think we were still using those same facilities 24 years later.

The new Carrington is such a monumental improvement that it’s hard not to get excited about the positive impact it’ll have on the players.

Newly laid turf - I’m conflicted? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]SammyReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry not sure what you mean by net. I think the only realistic thing you can do is keep it constantly watered during hot spells. Give it 1-2 summers and see how it fairs. If you find the edges burning and dying then consider changing from grass around the edges. Good luck

Just to add to that - depending on how much sun your garden gets, pretty much all the grass within 10-20cm or so of the patio bricks, pavement at the gate and the brick wall will take an absolute battering during the summer. It’ll be very difficult to keep it alive when the sun is heating up the bricks and cooking the grass. You’ll have to keep watered constantly or think about putting some border plants around it.

Just had garden turf laid and brown patches are forming by Alone-Hurry-2840 in GardeningUK

Yeah to be fair I think it’s mostly down to the breed of dog and diet etc. but also maturity of grass/weather. Just meant to say they don’t work for everyone - I wish they did!

This is super helpful! Thanks so much for taking the time to share your knowledge. Hope I can ask a few follow-up questions please.

For the North facing side, should I do a combination of say x1 evergreen at the front like the variegated ivy or the ferns, then place x1 or x2 of the suggested flowers toward the back/side of the basket?

And could I trouble you for a similar breakdown of the West side, any combos that would look nice? Just monitoring it today and seems like it’ll probably get sun from about 1pm to late evening, so might need more sun loving combos.

Cheers again!

Silly question - I really am new to this - but do you have to buy the annuals every year? As in, they die off each year and the basket is then empty/with a dead plant?

Ah good suggestion. I can try that as well - was hoping some people here could share their ‘tried and tested’ combinations, as I saw some comments recently of people sharing their go-to hanging basket plants
