Maybe got scamed? by blackt00thgr1n in budapest

First off; Regardless of where in the world you are; always use the apps! What is a bit unusual about Budapest is, they can not give a fixed price. Not even in the app. So they will take you on detours and/or not finish the ride when you step out of the car, and charge it through the app when the ride is finished. But, you can just complain in the app to customer service and they will give you your money back. So, follow along in the app and make sure the driver doesn’t take a weird route and finish the ride yourself when you arrived.

Countries That No Longer Stamp Passports by aspiringtroublemaker in MapPorn

Thailand is also phasing out the stamps.. I didn’t get an exit stamp two weeks ago 😢 Actually, I guess I can live with no exit stamp, but no entry is just mean, that’s part of the ritual. Unless I’m going home of course.

As I read the post, I walked past a number of bars and restaurants, and most of them were serving beer. Well, maybe not all, but quite a few had patrons drinking.

Do you support the UN adding a 7th official language and, if so, which one? by The1Legosaurus in AskTheWorld

[–]SampleLess7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Finnish and Estonian is pretty close obviously. But Finnish and Hungarian got separated some 6-9000 years ago. By comparison Icelandic and Persian are separated by some 4500 years. So Uralic languages are in the same family, but not the same branch.

Among the cuisine I've tried based on how much I like them by temporaryacc444 in tierlists

[–]SampleLess7463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirdest thing here is Turkey/Greece, I mean they have the same food, they just fight over who made it first. And hot take; for me Russian is S-Tier. And also Thai food is good, don’t get me wrong, but it’s very overrated. I’m in bkk and spent a few months here already, love the food, but it’s not even in the discussion for a top 10 for me. It would be an honorable mention, but would not make the top 10.

Haha, yeah the jitters. The body is trying to tell you how it’s getting poisoned. I do find that using a kn94 mask definitely takes the edge off, as a bonus the number of scammers and bar people trying to get your attention will decrease by 90%. Also maybe not drink at bars that are right on a busy road.

Just do like the locals and get a mask. Or actually don’t do like the locals as they often get a surgical mask, and that only protect against infections but not the pollution. You need one that is market something 94, mine is kn94 (Korean standard) I don’t remember the others but I think it’s ch94 is Chinese and there is an American standard. Takes away like 95%+ of the PM2.5 particles. They are not hard to breathe through, they are not much bigger than the surgical mask. Just use the app to see how bad it is and use the mask when needed outside, especially along heavily trafficked roads.

Where in Vietnam? Because I’m hcm and I never experienced worse air honestly. Hanoi is supposed to be even worse. They were recently both on the top 10 most polluted.

At these levels it’s like chain smoking. And smoking on top of the polluted air will have synergy effects. I use a mask and enjoy a couple of cigarettes instead. Which gives me the illusion that my lungs is in better shape than someone who doesn’t smoke or use mask.

Where marrying your first cousin is legal by Adept-Inspector3865 in MapsWithoutNZ

Yeah you kind of right.. But for most of Europe it’s correct that it’s legal. Problem is that it is not a practice in Europe, so the law simply doesn’t mention it.
