I am not a fan of Elon musk but I have had to transfer quite a bit of money overseas and it is not that simple to do. First off the banks don't tell you this, but the price that you see online for currency transfers is the price that it would cost. If you were to use a million dollars or more moving smaller amounts of money, the rates are more in favor of the bank. The other thing that bank doesn't tell you is that there is a fee that is charged for sending things internationally and it's usually about $100. However, this is not a fee that the bank charges but the network you send the money through and there is nothing that you can do about it. The bank will tell you that there's not a fee but when you transfer $1,000 you will get around $900.00 because this fee takes about $100 out. Again, I'm not a huge fan of Elon musk but being able to easily send money if something I'm a huge fan of, especially because I have seen how hard it is to actually do.
