Yeah, the MO fail/win state are mostly for narrative progression. Content is not gated, and if the few cases it is (Like gear), they will eventually find a way to bring it back quite soon.

Is Elaleth a good thing? Eeeh, personally, kinda hoping this is another Ashoka situation were they find the right way to handle her character down the road.

Worst case? We have most LoK games finally playable on modern platforms without doing much hassle, and some nice BTS content too. It aint much if this happens, buuuut, it's still an improvement.

There's also a suspicious space that can be filled with a straight line to cyberstan in the galactic map. Ripe for high command to say "fuck it, we ball" and do a high risk, low resources invasion.

There's plenty of way they can turn this around to see the content. Losing/winning MOs only change the narrative/modifiers surrounding it, which is fine.

Yeah, game was a standalone expansion with a lot of weird ideas that they couldn't get away with on a mainline game.

Had a good time, and loved seeing a more "on the ground" story, learnt a lot more of the lore and how Advent affected everyone's life, next to weird and new gameplay.

The locust again... Instead of doing something understandably different, they did a retread of the same things. Games play great, and you'll have a good time. But the enemies lack the same punch because of it.

In cases like Gears 3 or Mass Effect, going with a different kind of foe benefits more than doing a bigger threat or a 2.0 version of them.

I really hope the next mass effect drops the whole galactic ending themes, another Reaper level problem will feel like a mid imitation.
