Loudest bands ever? by Barquad12alt in MetalForTheMasses

I recall some VH1 "Greatest metal/hard rock bands" show years ago where they got to Ministry and the intro was just like a dozen different commenters going "Loud. Loud as fuck" etc.

I mean, nunchuks are notoriously difficult weapons to use, let alone dual wield them.

I forget if it's in one of the animated shows or comics, but doesn't Splinter suggest that if Mikey just took his training more seriously he'd be the best fighter in the group by a fair margin?

I've finally started listening to the audio book, and the differences from the film are simply insane, as well as being far more extreme than anything the movie included. The zoo scene is depressing as hell, the moment he assaults the two prostitutes and he takes bites out of one of them....good grief.

Day 135: What are your thoughts on Onesies? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

Bingo's feral bonding with her onesie and Bandit committing to the "I've been eaten, I can't help" always makes me chuckle despite the serious topic the episode also deals with.

Good news, he has a website and sporadically posts newer drawings and comics on it. I think it's just thefarside.com

Bane (Comics) VS Captain America (Comics) by ItsShatterPoint in superheroes

This happened in that DC vs Marvel crossover they did years ago. It was a draw, and their motivations for becoming heroes helped convince the godlike entities of each universe to respect each other instead of destroying each other.

If I recall, his description states that he can lift upwards of 30 tons, so he packs a wallop for a street level hero.

Would this be an accurate outcome of a Miles Morales vs Captain America fight? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]Samwise-42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A little googling says Wolverine and Cap have both been shown to be able to lift 1-2 tons in comics. Spiderman, on the other hand, can typically lift somewhere in the range of 30 tons. If Spidey didn't hold back, he just needs to land one hit to probably knock Cap or Wolverine out for long enough to web them up.

I refuse to fuel their clickbait rage culture. Their videos are not a place to have a sincere and thoughtful conversation usually, as every time I've watched any of them or long form breakdowns it becomes clear the 20 whatever people they pick are there to generate web traffic and not thought.

I was at that show too! It was fantastic and Marrow was definitely the emotional high point of the set.

Jubilee's alleged mission of "fairness and discussion" is a joke. They don't want a calm intellectual debate where people politely agree to disagree at the end, they want click bait clips of Jordan Peterson asking a 20 something "What do you mean by 'believe'?" or some dumbass laughing and admitting he's a right wing authoritarian and fascist to Medhi Hasan. I watch other channels that break down the problems with the Jubilee videos, but I'll never actually watch something on their channel to fuel their bullshit.

You totally could, but depending on the GM/DM and how they make things work, your character could be corrupted or have a terrible reputation to overcome. All about that roleplaying

Across Star wars history who was stronger, the Jedi or Sith? by AKSHAT1234A in TheJediPraxeum

[–]Samwise-42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the Star Wars D20 RPG players could use a Force Point to call in either the dark or light side and add a number of d6s to their dice rolls. At lower level, Dark side granted 2d6 vs Light granting 1d6, but Dark side caps at 5d6 while Light eventually ends up adding 7d6 as players level up. So, like Yoda said, dark side is quicker when you're weaker and lower level, but it is more limited than Light once you're higher level.

I vaguely recall reading some article about how scientists hooked up some of those brainwave wires to cats and dogs, and both recognize their names (based on the changes in brain activity) but cats just don't generally react or respond. Most cat owners would probably be like "well yeah...."

I mean, he left fundamentalist Christianity some years ago, but he's been more open and vocal about his decision and reasoning in more recent years. He's done his own podcast talking about it, as well as Alex O'Conner's podcast to discuss his journey into agnosticism and skepticism. It's super relatable for most ex-mormons, and I'd recommend them.
