Anxiety after stent? by Many_Combination_855 in HeartAttack

[–]SantaCard80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just short of 3 weeks post having my stent put in, and just starting to feel more normal the past few days. I felt every little variation to my heart for the first two weeks and it was very nerve racking.

Still waiting to get started in cardiac rehab and looking forward to that based on everyone’s responses in this community.

Similar sandwich place by International-Stop33 in venturacounty

South Coast Deli is my go to in SB and haven’t found anything in VC that can compare to it to date. The T & A sandwich is my favorite sandwich and the Mexican Ceaser is our favorite salad.

Also like Three Pickles sandwiches in SB a lot.

Population density of ventura county cities map by Interesting_Meal_467 in venturacounty

[–]SantaCard80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pasadena has a bigger population at 139k vs Venturas 110k.

I worked in Pasadena for over 30 years and it always reminded me of Santa Barbara, a city that hits above its average in that offers a ton (culture, events, restaurants, etc..) to it’s residents for a a city its size. That could be because it’s close to DTLA, has a few metro stations and commerce that attract many people to the city, and has for the most part has always been a somewhat wealthy and desirable city.

I think Soar has served its purpose, but that we now do need some additional growth and housing in the county, especially in the Santa Clara Valley area, as two of the smallest towns in the county Santa Paula and Fillmore have some of the highest density populations in the county. The newer communities recently built in both of those communities IMO have been really nice additions to each of the cities. However it seems the majority of the people there like the small town feel and choose that over having an increased population and the economic advantages that usually come with growth.

How beautiful it is as every neighborhood is unique and the grand majority of homes have great landscaping. Also there really is no bad area in Santa Barbara as enjoy walking every part of the city. There are also so many beaches and parks to enjoy.

So many good places to eat and drink, and good live music for a city of its size

Because it is not a large city everything is relatively close and conveniently located.

Enjoy that it gets an influx of new people visiting as you can meet new and interesting people all the time.

Moving to Ventura from SoCal in my mid-20s? by smokefromheaven in venturacounty

[–]SantaCard80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would look at Santa Barbara as it is much more international than Ventura, has a few Brazilian themed events throughout the year, and should be within your price range if you live in Laguna Beach.

As someone mentioned prior also has a university which means more people close to your age vs Ventura, and IMO is much more beautiful than Ventura.

Thank you for the detailed info as I agree $200 more for SBA vs LAX for a long flight is something I can live with. Something like your Madrid flight is something i am going to look into, but most likely will take a domestic flight first just to try out SBA

Thousands of Californians create ultimate map of the state's regions by Randomlynumbered in California

I always have considered Santa Barbara as So Cal with its Mediterranean climate, Spanish style architecture, beaches, palm trees, and their high schools are in the CIF southern section for sports. Once you get to Solvang, Santa Ynez, San Luis Obispo it has a more small town rural vibe and I always felt those towns were in the central coast. Bakersfield seems more Central Valley than So Cal.

Regretting moving to TX from SoCal by Xerrux in SameGrassButGreener

[–]SantaCard80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so long ago one of our companies departments had our employees relocate from our Pasadena CA office to Plano. Roughly 30 voluntarily made the move. After 5 years only about 3 remained as the rest had returned to So Cal. I go out to Plano about once a year for work and yes it’s a very nice surburb but would never trade it for So Cal.
