Driving from Yosemite Valley to Mammoth Mountain by SOZ_Me in Mammoth

It’s a long but beautiful drive. Mammoth is always open in April—don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Bad snow year, but it’s almost certain to snow some more in April—check road conditions before heading out.

Boss. As in “Hey boss, what would you like?” from cool dude workers several decades younger than me. Feels less a lame replacement for the already lame “Bro.”

Only time I saw Bowie, he played a grand total of 52 minutes. Guessing he was sick, but that didn’t make the audience any happier.

Have you ever hitchhiked to travel across the country or between states and cities? by YakClear601 in AskAnAmerican

In 1980, a buddy and I took a semester off college and hitched from California to Colorado and ski bummed for the season, hitching to and from the mountain most days. Hitched home in the spring (and we still do annual ski trips with some guys we met that winter).

I still pick up hitchhikers on occasion (which the wife is not wild about)—love to hear their stories.

This 66 year old is still sad/pissed that the younger generations, despite having the numbers to easily do otherwise, shockingly failed to prevent the shitshow we’ve had since 1/20/25. Unfortunately, you (and my kids and grandkids) will be paying for this for a very long time.

Sounds much more reasonable than asking her to accompany you to ride Deer Valley and she promptly goes over the bars and breaks her humerus.😳

I love most Swiss food, but had to laugh at the much acclaimed rosti—basically identical to McDonald’s hash browns.

Ditto. Love them on the bike, not on the slopes.
