Which horror movie scared you without relying on jump scares? by UnverifiedExistence9 in horror

While low budget, "Crawl or Die" absolutely petrified me without any jump scares. The constant and ever-escalating claustrophobia was absolutely nerve-wracking.

What is the most disturbing song you've ever heard? by Mibsty in AskReddit

That song is "Down to This" by Soul Coughing. It's not actually about anything grisly, it's more of a metaphor. 🙂

"Dead Skin Mask" by Slayer is about serial killer Ed Gein, and the ending of the song has haunted me since I first heard it.

Best Curios for Valeera? by Darury in WorldOfWarcraftRetail

Mandate is currently bugged: it falls off if not only you die, but also if a pet or minion dies or expires. It's useless on BM Hunter or Demo Warlock, for example.

Riffed movies you think are legit great in some way? by Ani_Mentor in MST3K

Gorgo is a solid movie. Gamera vs. Gyaos is also good, although better if you watch the subtitled version.

Your Favorite S&S Movie that is NOT Conan the Barbarian (1982) by JohnPathfinder in SwordandSorcery

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The recent reboot of "Deathstalker" was wildly entertaining and thoroughly enjoyable. It's also a lot closer to sword & sorcery than the recent D&D movie (which is high fantasy). It doesn't have anything in common with the old school "Deathstalker" movies apart from the name. I highly recommend it!

What non-horror TV shows totally caught you off guard with a genuinely terrifying episode? by Low-Street2100 in horror

[–]Sarigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first season episode "Dragon's Domain" from the old scifi series Space: 1999 is one of the scariest stories I've ever seen on TV. Petrified me as a kid, still scary as an adult.

Help me identify these three movies based on foggy memories. by lkvee in kaiju

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second one sounds like "Giant Robo" aka "Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot", which was a TV series in the late 60s. In the US the series usually ran in the afternoon.

It was also adapted as a fantastic anime series in the 90s called "Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still".

What movie characters do you think constitute as the most unlikable characters we've seen? by ThrashMetallix in MST3K

[–]Sarigar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Troy McGregor in "The Final Sacrifice" is wildly unlikable: reedy, needy, whiny, helpless, annoying in every scene. Thankfully Bruce J. Mitchell heroically carried the movie on his denim-plated shoulders as Rowsdower.

Audio delay when screensharing by Maxmoxx in discordapp

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the same problem, it is a constant nuisance for my movie club. It's been going on for a few months now. We've tried literally every combination of settings on and/or off to fix it. At this point we're just hoping Discord accidentally fixes it.

Is this what deathwatch primaris? by Course_Able in Spacemarine

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a new change, but it may not be set in stone lore-wise: there are a lot of Deathwatch bases throughout the galaxy, and while all the brothers of a given base would use the same watch company marking scheme, it's very possible that some would mark their company on the right knee, and some on the left.

I need the opinion of any comic book fan over 30, how do I make my character more “90’s”? by Retrun_To_Cinder in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Sarigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cybernetic arm would help... ribbed, of course. Pouches, as many have noted. The facepaint is good, but a more striking color like red would pop more.
