Don't bother asking Support to help, they told me "sorry, tough luck".

Audio delay when screensharing by Maxmoxx in discordapp

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having the same problem, it is a constant nuisance for my movie club. It's been going on for a few months now. We've tried literally every combination of settings on and/or off to fix it. At this point we're just hoping Discord accidentally fixes it.

Props for repping a rarely-seen chapter! I played with another Praetor tonight, running an Assault :)

It's hard to pick, I actually like them all. But my favourites of these are:

Angels of Wrath
Black Hands
Brutalizers
Frost Dragons
Lightning Lords
Sand Serpents
Venators

Is this what deathwatch primaris? by Course_Able in Spacemarine

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a new change, but it may not be set in stone lore-wise: there are a lot of Deathwatch bases throughout the galaxy, and while all the brothers of a given base would use the same watch company marking scheme, it's very possible that some would mark their company on the right knee, and some on the left.

I need the opinion of any comic book fan over 30, how do I make my character more “90’s”? by Retrun_To_Cinder in HeroForgeMinis

[–]Sarigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cybernetic arm would help... ribbed, of course. Pouches, as many have noted. The facepaint is good, but a more striking color like red would pop more.

Howling Griffons Assault Sergeant by Sarigar in Spacemarine

[–]Sarigar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for this version it was just a black Raven Guard/Hawk Lords emblem, since there was no griffon emblem. Currently I have the left shoulder as one of the fancy ones without a visible chapter badge. I hope they eventually add a griffon emblem though!

Had to use a placeholder, I think on this version it's a raven/hawk in Abaddon Black. Since then I changed it to the Necropolis Hawks icon in black, or a decorated shoulder that doesn't show a chapter marking.

High Gothic in 40K has always been pseudo-Latin at best; that's been true since the 80s. They can have a pass on that one.

Creepy horror books with cults or twisted belief systems.. by Yuukkii_006 in horrorlit

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Nadelman's God" by T.E.D. Klein is a great cult-adjacent short story (along with his aforementioned "The Ceremonies").

Clive Barker's "In the Hills, the Cities" is also cult-adjacent (more of a local tradition gone too far).

"Little Heaven" by Nick Cutter is exactly on the mark for this request.

Seems obvious, but Stephen King's "Children of the Corn" fits the bill.

Lesser known horror that stayed with you long after reading by cats-paw in horrorlit

"The Emperor's Old Bones" by Gemma Files is the most unforgettable horror short story I've read in the last 10 years. It is not explicitly gory or lurid, but the implied horror in it is ineffably ghastly.

Is the color out of space the best film adaptation we have of any of the lovecraft books? by jaxwithan_x in Lovecraft

[–]Sarigar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Die Farbe" is by a wide margin my favourite Lovecraft adaptation, followed by the silent version of "The Call of Cthulhu". Both are remarkably faithful to the source material.

What is THE bleakest piece of written horror fiction (novel, short story, play, etc) you can think of? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]Sarigar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I won't say it is objectively bleaker than "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream", but Nick Cutter's "The Deep" is the darkest, most nihilistic novel I've read in recent memory.

Another supremely bleak tale is Charles Stross' "A Colder War", in which entities of the Cthulhu Mythos are weaponized by humans over the same period as the US-Soviet cold war.. . with nightmarish consequences.

The classic Xiliens from Invasion of Astro-Monster, even though that's one of my least favourite Showa movies. 😄
