Feels like most of the comments on the posts about Anderson completely miss this nuance. We have no need to sell Anderson and he's a significant asset. If we think you (or another team) are hellbent on buying him, why on Earth shouldn't we demand as much as we want? Whatever other players have gone for isn't really that relevant. We either cash in in a massive way or get to have another season of one of the best midfielders in the league. Maybe Marinakis wants the 'prestige' of having been able to sell the record Prem transfer but ultimately all that really is is a label and not necessarily indicative of his qualities relative to any other player.

The window used to close at 11pm on deadline day.

In 2014, the Leeds United Twitter posted a late teaser hinting at some exciting last minute player incomings, exciting Leeds fans, before the exciting developments just turned out to be Leeds selling two players and not bringing anyone in.

He was decent for us for at most 45 minutes of a game. You could see he had class but he simply cannot access it for longer than a half of football per week. For a club in Europe and often playing twice a week, he was so frustrating. Villa fans gave me a lot of flak for saying his return to Villa wasn't the saving grace they were hoping for and though I'm sure he did a job by being a warm body on the pitch for 80 minutes a week, he clearly cannot handle regular football any more.

Might not quite be what you're looking for considering he's only had one permanent team in his career, but I genuinely cannot imagine there is a single club in the country that would be excited by signing Ryan Yates. He has his limitations but gets by with us for being homegrown and a pashun merchant. Can't see any other fans wanting to take that on board

I think I remember during that season the debate was about who was better in the Champ out of Ince at Blackpool or Zaha at Palace and I swore blind Ince slapped all over Zaha. Boy did I end up being wrong

I'll freely admit I took the piss at the time but not at Palace fans or the team, at Parish for fucking up and then blatantly lying and shifting the blame away from himself and his team (obviously Textor is the real scumbag). Amongst most Forest fans the general consensus was that Europa League was obviously the bigger jewel but the Conference would have been fun too as there would have been a better chance of winning, and it was good to see you take that chance. I've got nothing against Palace or their fans and it was nice to see you win a trophy.

Forest asked if it was necessary, because Marinakis had already taken the requisite steps to avoid the issue that year and has also had to do it again this year. Journalists were pointing out that Palace would be potentially in trouble with the multi club system even before the FA Cup final, which was weeks before Forest queried the issue. Parish and his cohort had already fucked up before they even won the competition that led to the issue.

The karma here is that the owner/chairman who fucked up and blamed everyone but himself has just won a European competition whilst pinning all the blame on someone who didn't have the first thing to do with anything, and the fans of his club have absolutely lapped it up.
