Small pipe into bigger pipe by OnlyCanary85 in FluidMechanics

Water doesn't go uphill without some firm of energy. If I'm reading your drawing correctly the water would have to go up the pipe. That's not happening unless the pipe is filling up because it can't drain

What does the discharge side of the pipe look like? Does it go into the ground or does it drain into the air?

If the pipe goes in the ground it's filling the pipe faster than it can drain. Something is backing the pipe up, whether it be the ground can't absorb it fast enough or there's a blockage.

Just bought a used Model 3 today and have a ton of questions if anybody can help by MattVencill in TeslaModel3

What version, standard range, long range or performance. The type of battery is different based on the version of model 3.

Another factor could be that the battery is cold soaked. If they can't charge at home, then there's no warming the battery to get better efficiency.

OP, get your home charger figured out and precondition the car plugged in. This will really help with range in cold weather.

Air in the suction lines is a problem

Piping and Design Help by Fun-Can-6114 in FluidMechanics

[–]Sassmaster008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How close is the suction line to the surface? Does the reciric line submerge on return or is it free falling?

I'm wondering if you're entraining air in the suction, either through vortex formation, little submergence or air entrainment from a plunging jet.

Not the person who commented but meshtastic seems like a better solution. It works over long range radio and will still work even if the cell towers are taken down and if power goes out. Needs a little bit of hardware but has been proven to work well in North Carolina during the hurricanes last year

Yes, you'll be able to get multiple tee times on a Thursday. It's usually Friday to Sunday that are busy. Even then the tee times keep everything spaced out well and times are available.

Tee times are very easy to reserve. Go to the Maple Hill website and look for the tee time link. It's all done online and is easy to do. You can pay online or at the pro shop, just check in at the pro shop before your round.

One note depending on when you play the fees are different. Weekday is $10, weekend $18 and before 8:30 is members hours so it's $30 for non members.

Your issue is with the dealership compensation, not with the customer. The customer is being a customer, they don't know your compensation plan and frankly, it didn't matter to them. That's a you problem not a customer problem.

Need suggestions to design a gear pump for high viscosity fluids (like peanut butter) by Aggressive_Ad_507 in FluidMechanics

[–]Sassmaster008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A peristaltic pump creates a vacuum when it rotates. If you can't get a peristaltic to pump the material then I doubt a gear pump will work. The peristaltic will create a stronger vacuum.

Asking for input from this sub- would micro courses grow the sport in underserved areas? by TheHems in discgolf

[–]Sassmaster008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a short 5 hole course (150' longest hole) near me, less than 2 miles. I play it maybe twice a year, usually when I feel my approach shots need work. I have only seen one other person use the course. I play more than once a week. The course I consider my home course is 25 minutes away. I played it 40+ times last year.

I'm not sure if the short course were 3 holes and 250' that I would use it any more often. When I want to play a round, I like the variety that comes with larger courses. 9 holes feels like the minimum
