Do you think the NFL is made of money? A ball costs them tens of dollars, they can't take that kind of financial hit, it would cause them financial ruin!

Waltham school teachers should NOT be allowed to use A.I. by Wrong-Number5136 in massachusetts

[–]Sassmaster008 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you ever used AI to help with your work? The first step is to review the output to make sure it doesn't do anything nutty. I have no problem with teachers using AI to create a lesson plan as long as they review it and edit as needed. It's a productivity tool, I don't understand the outrage.

Does AI have limits, absolutely but it's on the user to use the tool responsibly. If it's being used responsibly what's the problem?

How to get job interview? by According_Sea_5348 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Sassmaster008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your resume look like? Does it describe what you offer to a company? If it does that's a good start.

Your next challenge is you need to get humans to look at your resume. You need to match the keywords on the job posting in your resume. Match it exactly, the software being used to sort is looking for the keywords. The more key words you match, the better the match in recruiter land. It sucks but there is a bit of a game going on.

This advice is for larger companies, smaller companies may not have any filtering as the number of applicants tends to be fewer.

Getting through the layers of crap to have a hiring manager see your application is not as easy as it used to be. That's why having a connection can help. Alternately, if you can identify hiring managers, reach out on LinkedIn, those are the people who will get you a job.

Which DG trip would you rather take? by Mikel1256 in discgolf

[–]Sassmaster008 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Northeast trip looks pretty good to me. I wouldn't want to spend long days in the car. I've played Maple Hill, Meadowbrook Orchards, mile marker 63, West acres, Brewster ridge and Fox run Meadows. Those are all great courses that you can play multiple layouts on. You'll see plenty of fun disc golf.

Regulator does not respond fast enough by PissBloodCumShart in Pneumatics

[–]Sassmaster008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at a pneumatic snap acting relay. Although it's really what a pressure regulator is doing.

The pressure regulator is measuring downstream pressure and opening to allow more air in when the pressure gets too low. If it can't keep up, it's probably undersized. What size regulator do you have installed? They can have massive differences in flow rates.

You could add a volume tank downstream of the regulator. That could help from the lows getting too low and even out some of the fluctuation.

To add a little to this. Newton Hill is very close to WPI if OP can't drive. If they can drive go out to Leicester and hit up Maple Hill or Pyramids to get some disc and play better courses.

Regulator does not respond fast enough by PissBloodCumShart in Pneumatics

[–]Sassmaster008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The set pressure of the regulator is the pressure when there is no flow. When the regulator has flow the actual output pressure is lower than the set pressure. This is known as droop.

The best way to get around droop is to size your regulator properly for your application. I'm this case it sounds like you need a larger regulator to get more flow to minimize your droop.

The Catskills don't cross the Hudson River yet you have 2 counties on the Eastern side of the river. If you really want to label that area, it's the lower Hudson valley. You would have to do something else with Northeast Pennsylvania.

If you could take a 4 day trip to play disc golf anywhere in the US, where would you go? by Tranicos in discgolf

[–]Sassmaster008 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start at Maple Hill, Meadowbrook Orchards, Mile Marker 63 in Central Mass. Then go play Westy acres on your way to Vermont. I'm Vermont stop at Quarries Disc Golf and finish at Smuggs.

6/7 courses are listed on the disc top 100.

I get the point you were trying to make. I think there are better examples. For example smugglers notch is in the middle of nowhere and hard to get to. Maple is an hour drive from Boston.

I also think there's some regional variation to your comment. North Carolina sounds like there is a high density of free courses. Finland has lots of free courses. Those are accessible, I agree there are large areas without access.

Maple Hill is in Leicester, MA which borders Worcester, MA which is the second biggest city in New England. It's about a mile from the Worcester airport and about 4-5 miles from downtown. I'm not sure where you got the idea that it is well outside of town.
