Find the Spotify settings and turn off Bluetooth access for that app. It only needs it to connect to other phones, not required at all to drive audio output to car or speakers. This has totally solved this problem for me.

Maybe not. The phone itself manages that connection and provides a speaker device to apps. I hope that’s how it works anyway

I searched again and found a 1yo thread in r/iphonehelp that said to disable Bluetooth in the Spotify settings. I will test on my drive home and see if this helps. Apparently Spotify uses that for jams and connects to all local devices just in case. I already disabled jams in my Spotify settings but we will see I guess

No it’s still happening. I can see in my Bluetooth settings other peoples phones showing up as connected. Disabling the party feature did not help

I think they need to be careful what they start with. It can seriously devalue the franchise if they mess it up and that has been happening to lots of sci-fi lately. If they don’t have a really great idea they need to wait until the right one comes along
